Well had filler neck replaced, charcoal box replaced. Just passed State emissions.:clap::clap:

Swapped out the KO2s for Falken Wildpeaks (285/75/16). Not been off the hard with them yet but they are much quieter, smoother ride than the KO2s on road. Looking forward to getting into some snow...

Finally got around to changing out my leaky Gates radiator hoses with OEM hoses and new OEM clamps, replaced fraying serpentine belt with new OEM, replaced original plastic radiator with a Mishimoto all aluminum unit, and while I was in there I did the thermostat and gasket with new OEM also. I did the heater Ts a couple mo ago.

Only fitment issue I had with the Mishimoto was that inner top bolts which hold the rad to the bracket would not line up properly on both sides. Visible in photo on the side of the rad if you look closely. I figured this was not a big deal since the bolts go straight into a welded aluminum nut vs. OEM which bolts into a nut suspended in plastic. All other bolt holes lined up well.

X2Power 27F battery is toast. 5yr warranty and it s***s out at exactly 5yrs and 4mon:( Oh well, it had a great run! I was very pleased with it and never had any issues, even after running it down several times over the years. I will be getting another one. Might step down from size 27 to 24 to make a little more room in the engine bay. The 24 still has 840CCA compared to the 930CCA in the 27. May also make a new battery tray but we'll see if I have the motivation hah

Any particular reason you switched? I'm looking at both options, I've run KO2s before and they felt reasonably comfortable on road but any improvement would be nice.

Did you maintain it/throw it on a AGM charger every so often?

Every now and then I would especially after long camping trips or if I used my winch a lot, but I would say the majority of the time it was not. Don't mind the 5 or so times I've run it down to ~6V:) Honestly I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did so I really don't have any complaints. I've been very happy with the performance of the X2Power!

Weighed one of my F5 wheels and tires I like quick acceleration, braking, handling over mass. I want to keep wheel and tire weight under 75 lbs. I think it worked out.

I've never weighed mine, but using published weights on my 17" FN 5 Star wheel and 33" C rated KO2 it should be 70lbs.

Good to know. I bet you like how it feels?

Yup, originally bought 32" E KO2s and didn't like braking performance, so sold those and got 33" C KO2s. It's amazing what a few pounds less of unsprung weight changes the feel. I was a forged JDM whore when I was younger, wasn't going that route on the 100.

Absolutely! It's just physics. Looking back I've jacked up a few decent handling/performing cars in the past by thinking bigger and heavier was better.

Usually, I would sell or trade the victim soon afterward so I didn't have to live with my mistake.

I did forget and jacked up my Tacoma for a short while with some heavy metal wheels and oversized tires. Fortunately, I was able to return wheels and tires over another defect while moving to a larger but lighter wheel and tire combination. That restored handling and performance.

For the 100, I think coming to terms with and learning how to enjoy and leverage the truck's natural capabilities (with some minor enhancements) will give the best bang for the buck.

*cries in Hutchinsons and 35" E-rated tires*

Looks great though, and the F5s are killer

Yup, I remember my college classmates made fun of me for buying lightweight forged wheels, they were like you could just lose 10lbs. They didn't understand the unsprung part.

This week i have done the pin 7 mod, got the old girl back from having a new windscreen, the rust around the screen sorted and repainted with all new OEM seals;

various little bits done like changing the loading screen on the headunit to something more appropriate and missed the delivery for the rear brakes and anti roll bar drop links i need to get done.

Today I installed my Bowfin Cruisers Roof Rack from @dogfishlake
I did most of the work in my living room out of the wind and cold then had my husband, @mesa man, and my son, Dylan, help me load it on before I tightened all the bolts down. I’m really excited about this new rack, it feels sturdy and ready for our long adventures!
Thanks Pat! I have been looking forward to this day for a LONG time!

Upgrades!

Five new coil packs, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, fan clutch, thermostat, PCV hose and valve, evap hoses, fresh mobile1 and filter, front wheel bearings adjusted, new drive flanges, diffs and tcase fresh gear oil. Not a bad day. Little more and drawers all fitted plus an inverter install and this one is ready to go. One of the nicer high mile 100’s we have seen.

Cheers

Sweet! Glad you got it on there. You'll probably be the winning draw for a rack next year at Solid Axle Summit LOL. Here's to the rack serving for many adventures.

Cheers!

Interesting. Mine died in January after 59 months. Due to the proverbial "supply chain" issues, they couldn't find an X2Power to replace it under warranty. Ended up with an Odyssey. Can't complain. Added the Slee battery tray that was sitting in my garage for years too, once it got warm.

Thank you. This helped me a lot. Stay safe out there gents and ladies.

That semi in front of us shortly after this quick video was taken caught a patch of black ice flipped and jack knifed. Driver survived without a scratch at all. One of the worst snow storms I’ve seen even saw a 200 series on snow chains abandoned on the side of the road.

Pulled a jeep JK that got stuck on the embankment, when I checked with the driver he doesn’t know how to operate the 4WD. Gave him a quick 5-minute “crash course” in correctly operating his equipment and he was on his way.

Our LCs/LX standout in these types of weather. Drive a Legend.
