Changed the oil for the winter. Doubt I will have to do it again this year. The prior owner was a bastard on the filter though had to pipe wrench it off. Still looking for my PS leak.

Busy week. Picked up vehicle for purchase and drove home 180 miles. Dealership replaced the power Antenna and left front turn signal bulb.

Placed parts order online
1. Weather tech fitted floor mats front and back.
2. Hard copy owners manual (only have the pdf downloaded)
3. ordered cargo net hook
4. ordered license plate light bulbs
5. getting second key today
6. ordered hood struts.
7. going to look at a set of factory wheels locally since my current ones are trash.

Welcome aboard!!

A couple of weeks ago hurricane ETA rolled through and dropped 18 inches of rain in my front yard. Needless to say not many vehicles were able to get around. It took nearly 4 days to go down. I had no issues other then maybe a starter.

How justified did you feel about your snorkel....be honest. How many times did you remind the wife or just drive around the neighborhood because you could....

ok how difficult is this job with or without an air hammer and being done on the ground

Did mine on the ground, no problems there. But I did use the air hammer. If you have an air supply, the tool is super inexpensive at Harbor Freight.

On the ground is easy.

I only did front 2 bushings. If you don't use an air hammer, you will be in for some hard work. 2 minutes with air hammer and the front one was out.

Air hammer $35.
Air compressor $250.
Ball joint press $70. Or rent it free.

Need a ball joint press to install.

Thanks, my grandparents bought that brand new in 1972.

That GMC is super sweet. I love that generation of GM truck. At 8 years old, I partially learned to drive in a '69 Chevy C-10 with a 307ci V8 and a Hurst 4 speed manual.

I may be a sadist, but it's doable with a cold chisel and a BFH. You will absolutely need a breaker bar and a cheater bar on top of that with out air impact gun. We're talking feet on the cheater pipe, asphalt jujitsu to break those bolts. My electric impact did not nudge the bolt one bit.

You need a better electric 1/2 impact. Mine busted them all off without issue.

Baby steps toward my dual battery setup (and maybe some F/R lockers, who's to say).

Installed my Slee 2nd battery tray...twice. Was being lazy and didnt want to seperate the ABS harness from the AHC harness and was just gonna tuck it all under the tray. I didnt notice placing it there pulled the ABS electrodes out of their socket just enough to set off the christmas lights until it was all in. Did it faster and prettier the 2nd time round.

I installed the easy part of the Cruiser Outfitters part-time conversion kit. New manual locking hubs. I’m heading out for a few days of isolation in/near Death Valley, so I will wait to install the transfer case spool when I get back.

I’m surprised by how nice it is to drive on the road in 2 wheel drive. I thought it would be a subtle change, but, it seems significant. It feels smoother and lighter. Almost nimble. Nimble like a tank. I also added wheel spacers a few weeks ago and was surprised by how it helped handling and roll. I have a RTT and I think the slightly wider stance helps. OR, it’s all a placebo effect. Either way, it looks cool...

Think this part was way overdue. Still not sure if there are supposed to be clamps around the hose ends.
Will leave a write up over here, just because there are so many troubles with removing the old _completed hardened like plastic_ grommet.
