Pretty sure it is.... after greasing my driveshafts, clunking went away
Yup, same. It happened on some accelerations from a stop but mainly happened when I was driving and would let of the throttle, then immediately apply it again. It felt like shifting weight in the rear of the vehicle; almost like a loose spare tire.

Probably finished restoring a set of 18" LX wheels I bought over a year ago on Mud classifieds. They've been sitting on the side of the house waiting for me and some bonus project time thanks to covid.

Pressure wash, aircraft stripper, wire wheel and sanding. Had a little help, less than enthusiastic. Seems self defeating as they are or will be the primary drivers of this fine machine.

Couldn't find the good before pics, but I haven't touched the spare yet, so it's indicative of the salt-induced corrosion around here.

New finish is all Rustoleum - self etching primer, graphite high performance wheel paint and clear coat.

Not as smooth as I'd like, seems like some dust nibs in the sides of the spokes, so I may polish and hit it again with clear after it is good and cured.

Nice work on the wheels! The enthusiasm of the crew is hilarious.

It's really hard to sand with an iPhone in one of your hands...jus' sayin.

Did tire rotations today, noticed a little play in the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock, knew it was the bearings and sure enough, the 2 locking axle nuts was a little loose. Opened it up and packed some more grease in there and torqued to specs.

Got a little project working in the third row where I won't have carpet back there anymore. While the carpet is out decided to Kilmat it to keep it quiet.

Let me know if you notice a dramatic improvement, was thinking of doing mine but not sure if the effort is worth it.

Got me wondering if I moved my roll of leftover genero-dynamat over from the old house to new. It's the kind of thing that might have been tossed in the Great Basement Garage Purge of 2019, but now that I've got another project car, it'd be nice to tuck some more of that kind of stuff in. Ain't that just the way?

So without the carpet it is very noticeable. I won't be putting the carpet back in, so I don't know how much better it would be with carpet. There are some parts of the trunk that already have some on it.

I dig it. I want to redo our factory ones as the last owner left wheel cleaner on too long and stripped some of the paint.

Got around to sanding and painting my corroded rims. Used Rustoleum Wheel paint in flat black. Way more work than originally thought. Also regreased the rear calipers as they seemed rather dry in the slides.

Perpetrating a fraud. No garage, and want to avoid being the talk of the neighborhood, so can’t leave it up on axle stands for two weeks while I get my blown front diff redone....
Pulled CVs and diff, taped over the axle hole in the steering knuckle, reconnected all ball joints, and put the wheels back on—gives passers by the impression that our vehicles all work....

And, yes, that ring gear is missing a tooth....

Pretty curious about this myself. My carpet has been gone a while and replaced with a goose gear style plywood deck. I've always wondered if I should do some soundproofing and how effective it would be.

Started my sleeping platform after putting it off for a year or so. I signed up for a motorcycle track day and will be camping out so it gave me some motivation to start on this project. Will finish up the front panels tomorrow and some other finishing touches. Not putting drawers in it right now. Not the best carpentry work but it'll work for my needs and it was cheap!

Need to decide what to cover it with...

Hard mount charger for my new AGM. I likes it. I want to hard mount charging leads to the threaded post but need to research/perform a parasitic drain test on the charger first.
