That is good to know. The front two bolts are a pain nonetheless, and the rear bolt is just to add torture to the fun. :D

Well, I'm a first timer. So would like to know if there any side effects of not loosening the rear bolt

Plastidip badges.
I wonder if it would work on the steering wheel badge.

Started working on the front end suspension refresh today, replaced all 4 ball joints with Triple 555 i got from Kurt at @cruiseroutfitters . Very easy to do once you remove the knuckle, goodness gracious that thing gotta weight at least 100 lbs, i think i herniated a disc lifting it up to attach to the ball joints. it's a pleasure to wrench on this truck where no bolts is rusted or broken, didn't even have to use my big 1400ft lbs impact gun to break anything, the milwaukee 600ft lbs impact did everything with ease.

Top one was the culprit, making that eehh ehhh ehhh noise when turning and during rebound/compression

I didn't have a cup long enough with the correct size to press the top one out so i ended up cutting the joint and use what i had to press it out. Pressing it back in was a piece of cake

Truck drives like new now, everything is nice and tight and quiet. I was going to replace the TREs but they were nice and tight and had no play. Sway bar links bushing looks good too, one thing that could use replacing were the 2 C clips holding the axle, they have a big more gap and move more freely than i'd like, probably will replace that before it pops out.

Greased all 6 zerk fittings on the drive shaft. Had a little trouble wiping of all the excess grease so I let centrifugal force do its thang.

The front two bolts go through the compressor into the fan bracket, and loosening the rear bolt makes it possible to extract those to be able to remove the fan bracket, and to make putting them in again possible by being able to wiggle the compressor a bit.

I've got this exact noise going on right now. I guess I know where to look. Thanks!

I have two broken keys and one working spare that doesn't have the fob so I finally got a YotaMD key, pretty sweet. kinda crazy spending $80 bucks on a key but nice knowing it'll never break and even the attachment for key chains is nice and sturdy. I could start the car during a camping trip last year because the plastic snapped and the fob fell out and i didnt realize it so that made it a little easier.

Took the family out for some dispersed camping in the blue ridge mountains. Lots of people had the same idea with being couped up I think. One of the first times I've actually gotten the wife to go to something that isn't an actual campground, hopefully more of that now that its not even an option. Usually it just me and the boys. I find camping with kids to be easier than being home, something about it makes them less crazy.

and @ClassyJalopy heres how I mounted the awning. The L-Bracket is secured to the outside bar of the roof and then I sandwiched it with two sets straight brackets. Used lock washers and loctite on everything. Kinda janky looking but cant see any of it.

Love the mounts and love that giant palace of a tent you got going there!

Got it off Facebook market place for a song, no regrets. It has a closet on the back side, a divider partition for the middle. Holds heat with Buddy Heater like nobodies business. Sometimes I'm jealous of the roof top tent guys but then I remember I spent $75 dollars and I can stand up and walk around in mine even with a queen air mattress, two singles and a pack n play. The set up time really isnt awful either.

Nice looking truck, bumpers and lift. What type of lift and shocks are you running?
Rancho 9000XL adjustable shocks with Old Man Emu 2865 Springs. For the money the Rancho's ride great and I havent had any problems for about 15,000 miles.

Did you program the key yourself?

Just finished installing Owl Expedition’s - DIY LED Courtesy/Rock Light Kit - on my 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser. What a GREAT product! My land cruiser does not have the running boards courtesy lights from factory, so Rami from Owl Expedition designed a relay that connects to the dome lights and operates just like the factory ones. The lights come on when I open the door and go out when I close the door in sync with the dome lights. The instructions are spot on. The only challenging step is connecting to the dome wire under the dash on the driver side. The relay Rami designed also allows you to install a switch that turns the lights on and off independent frome the dome lights. For my vehicle it even work with the remote key, so when I unlock the car, the lights come on and when I lock the car, the lights go off.
BTW, the relay does not come with the kit. This was his first relay he made to work on a 100 series land cruiser. If you need one, just call Rami and he'll work with you on getting you one made.
Thanks to Rami for creating a great product and providing outstanding customer service.
