Went to flush my brake fluid yesterday and do a tire swap to find this staring at me from the front passenger side.... I guess it's time to find some stainless steel lines that will ship up to Alaska! Biggest bulge I have ever seen in a brake hose so far, glad I caught it before it popped on me going down the highway.

Nice catch! Might want to look into replacing those bushings too.

Hey JWick,

I honestly didn't even notice the bushings when I was working in the garage, but when I uploaded the pic I saw how horrible they looked.... Any suggestion on a good source to get this from or a link if you have replaced yours already?

Thanks man!

@ranma21 has whole kits up for sale on Ebay, not sure if he ships to AK. This was the set I purchased, he also sold rear sets as well. 98-07 Toyota Landcruiser Front Stabilizer Bar Rebuild Kit 100 Series Lexus LX470 | eBay
Assuming your truck isn't lifted as I'm vaguely aware that some people install extended links. I believe Trail Tailor sells those.
EDIT: I actually opened my eyes and saw your posting shows 3" OME Lift 🤦‍♂️, perhaps research into the extended links if you're going to replace them anyways.

Engine oil, air filter, diffs and transfer case fluids, drive shaft lube, SPC arm lube, spark plugs, very thorough pressure washing after some trails over the weekend.

Nothing was really wrong, we were just due for everything. She's a little smoother now, but not much more than I'd attribute to psychosomatic feeling.

I still need to do my 5 tire rotation but I'm tired and want a beer now. That can wait until later this week. Same with getting the top side cleaned up.

Knocked out my timing belt, water pump, radiator hoses and heater Ts today. My 99 had the original water pump made on 9-25-1999 still on it; I was amazed it wasn't leaking and the bearing was still good.

I did pick the wrong day to do it, way too hot :bang:

What mileage on your truck?

someone asked me for a review on my chinese off road fridge, it's an alpicool cx50, Chinese made with an LG compressor so it's low in energy usage and uses less power then an arb and dometic, but no it's not a dometic, arb and might be better considering price and w energy use but unfortunately doesn't carry the prestige...but its affordable and working well for the past 3 months. I mainly keep it in my bedroom for cold water storage, and then it goes in LX for weekend warrior trips so far its been in death valley, pismo beach, and big bear with 0 issues.

price was 319 delivered from amazon and a 2 year square: trade warranty...

you don't need fancy smanchy 1k coolers to enjoy this luxury... give this a try and u won't regret! coupled with my ARB hard wire kit and LX oem tie dows its been great!

I'll let you know when it fails but so far its a great purchase!

Yikes, good catch. It also appears the rubber on your sway bar links need replacing.

JWick,

Thanks for the link! I picked up the last set he had for sale on eBay.

Got 2 of my 6 lights installed and wired up. Have to change the wire on the switch as I must switched it or it was backwards as the light in the switch is staying on. Easy fix but was too tired to mess with it once I was done. Two more will go on the bull bar and two more on the rear. I will post the rear when done as I bought 2 brackets for a ATV for $12 and with a little more bending on the vice they will be ready to mount lights.

I think I mentioned in my post a while back that baseline and build on my 100 is 80% done. Forgot to mention the funny thing when I installed the snorkel and had a bad engine start with codes, then serious studdering in the engine at 2,800rpm at gear shift and long story short after thinking it was the new fuel filter or air in the gas line it turned out I just forgot to plug the MAF sensor back in, d'oh.

Well this weekend accomplished about 2% of that remaining 20% left I wanna do for build and baseline. After finding a tear in the CV boot, I looked inside with a light to see how dirty it was, it really wasnt so....I put in a small amount of CV grease, cleaned the boot, and put flex seal tape all the way around it and sealed it. That was 3 weeks ago really and have done a lot of water crossings since then so that was a bit cheaper than just replace the whole CV option. I'm sure some of yall would freak at that, but i have no popping or clicking from that CV, its not super old so replacing seems super unnecessary.

Transfer Case and Diff's - Drain and Fill. Stinky, but very very little amount of small metal shavings on the drain plug so that's good.

Did officially pass 495,000 but missed it for the photo, but by this week I'm already about 100 short of 496,000. Did some trails and camping in the mountains.

Steering rack finally came in, should be doing that this weekend. Also, I broke the bracket/hinge for the rear cargo vent window, it was stuck open and I tried to force it. Really hard to find the part number but I got it, came in Saturday for $45 to my door, so between that and the steering rack should be fun stuff.

Since finally taking the 100 out on some fairly rough trails (and reading some threads here on MUD), and the ensuing paranoia after every clunk and bump and wondering at every sound I've changed up some of the things I want on to do on the truck, really just what order I want to do them in.
For one I really want to add more gauges and sensors sooner than later. I want a digital readout temp sensor for the engine temp, an EGT sensor, and 2 transmission temp sensors (1 before the cooler and 1 after). I want 2 or 3 of them be in the a pillar frame on the drivers side under the oh s$#t handle. Has anyone else seen this or have a part number for gauge mount that sits pretty flush with the a pillar? Or anyone seen write up for adding sensors/gauges?
The other thing I want to do is replace my front differential. Mine is a 99' and so it has the weaker 2 pinion style, and I would like to find a 2000 or later 4 pinion and do the 4.88 nitro gears and an ARB locker. Is the best way to get a 4 pinion front diff to look in classifieds here or whats probably the best way to source that? (preferable before I grenade mine which I'm sure will happen, but even if not and I'm doing the nitro gears and arb locker I might as well).

No need to replace the entire CV, but a boot kit is pretty inexpensive and would give you peace of mind that you're not killing your CV with a torn boot.
