Finally got around to pulling the running boards. Much easier than I thought even with the little bit of rust. Now to track down the origin of the belt squeal! Camping season is here and I desperately want to take my boys out with my rig! Can't wait!

Went ahead and replaced the lifetime fuel filter for a second time with another lifetime fuel filter and replaced the fan belt for good measure since the old one had been on there for 6-7 years

I so Effin jealous. I want someone to hit my bumper so bad so
I can get aftermarket. Btw what tire size you running. You’re truck looks stout

275 70 18, gets the job done but id rather have more sidewall.

Yah that’s what I have, my running boards are coming off tomorrow. Think I’m doing 295/70r18 next set

Replaced the alternator hoping to remedy intermittent charging issues. The one installed was an AC Delco and the nut securing the B+ lead was was barely tight and the connection was dry as a bone (no grease). Lots of corrosion and looks to be some arcing on the post. Hopefully this Denso reman does the trick.

This past week I went and purchased my first 100 series. 99 LC: southern owned (no rust), 120k miles, factory rear locker, long list of maintenance done, new tires, AC condenser, etc. It isn’t a beauty queen as it looks like a 20yr suv (mall crawler thankfully) but will need some work - new leather, clear coat sporty, sunroof quirky but mechanically sound. It did the 800 miles just fine getting home. Thank you all for contributing to my knowledge to make a good selection for my first 100.

Got my AHC pressures dialed in, 7mpa front, 6.5mpa rear, rides like a cadillac now but without the piece of crap GM reliability. Also mounted my axe and giant poop shovel.

Looking nice! What shovel and axe are those?

Axe is a Fiskars chopping axe, and the shovel is a one piece design, i forget what brand, i just mounted them using quick fists and some zip ties for added strength.

Took her down to Florida for the weekend and took a trip to Amelia island yesterday. She did fricken awesome in the sand. To the extent that the first three hours there were spent pulling out three other trucks who got stuck. I've now earned the Ford, Dodge, and Chevy recovery crew stickers. Couldn't help the Jeep that blew out his rear end though.

I plan to tackle some brake system items soon so I broke out the old Windows XP laptop and the Toyota Techstream app to see the bleeding program. Seems fairly simple. I hope to troubleshoot my spongy brake pedal and flush the old fluid. Sitting at 342k.

Fixed the buttons on the climate panel (3 dial type), replaced broken bulb in gear selector indicator, replaced hinge and lock in center armrest, replaced seat belt buckle’s bolt (spring washer was gone and the buckle was just dangling around). Then took it for a good 300mile ride out in the country side.

Sounds great. Look forward to hearing from you
Ok dude, after having them on for a few days. I love these tires. They handled great off road, in water, mud and crazy rocks. Had a close call with a pretty good gash on the side wall but they are solid. As for road noise if your actively listening for it you can hear it, other than that with A/C on high or radio and wind noise you cant tell it's there.

I ordered this Tee fitting already as preventive measure. My noob question is where is this located?

I ordered the metal version of this, is there anything else I need to have like special clamps or anything? Or special hoses since it’s the metal version that I will using?

Just waiting for delivery..

My opinion is that the plastic one can easily last 90k anyway, and as the coolant gets old, it may be corrosive to metal. No proof of this, but if a 30 minute job works for 7-10 years, then I saw no harm in the plastic ones. Just my .02.

Got my dual battery system fitted. I used a Piranha offroad tray/kit and projecta VSR. The piranha kit is designed to relocate the power steering reservoir, but honestly the bracket on the side of the tray could be designed with a much better angle. When you mount it up as designed it positions the reservoir in/outlets on a far greater angle than it really needs to be - simply making it harder than it needs to be to refit the lines. I adjusted it a little so it sat on a slightly better angle to refit the power steer lines, and also gave better clearance from the battery, but only using 1 mounting bolt instead of 2. So I’ll just need to keep a close eye on it to start with and make sure it doesn’t go anywhere.
Next stage is to run some permanent power to the back for some lights, fridge and a few 12v outlets.

Post photos once done pls!

I will do mine next weekend as soon as I buff off and flatten out the orange peel on mine.
I decided to hold off on the coating part, saw a few spots that need to be wetsanded. How are you going to deal with the orange peel? Are you wetsanding?

The orange peel is often caused by the clear coat, it is conventionally fixed by wet sanding. You can start off with 1500 grit and then 2000 grit. Sometimes I go beyond that 2-stage procedure and go for 3000.

These are all done by hand, so if you have time, try a small 10”x10” section and do a 3rd step 3000 grit test and see if that’ll make you happier. It’s all about the amount of time you are willing to put in.
