The orange peel is often caused by the clear coat, it is conventionally fixed by wet sanding. You can start off with 1500 grit and then 2000 grit. Sometimes I go beyond that 2-stage procedure and go for 3000.

These are all done by hand, so if you have time, try a small 10”x10” section and do a 3rd step 3000 grit test and see if that’ll make you happier. It’s all about the amount of time you are willing to put in.
Good deal. I am a big fan of wetsanding myself, results are great if one does it correctly. I know some detailers will avoid the wetsand process and just use the rotary with a wool pad...i never been lucky enough to remove any severe defects via rotary only.

got some used sliders.. wire wheel, flap disk, rust reformer, primer , paint and diamond clear , and theyre good as new.

Yeah agree. If the clear was laid down very well -normally in a controlled environment the level of how rough the orange peel is minimal. With the release of new models of spray guns which atomizes the output of paint, this eliminates the process of orange peels.

Tested the KO2s on Schnebly Hill Trail. Very rocky. They were awesome! Engine was getting hot, but cooled off after a little break and stayed cool keeping it in low range, plus it was 93 today in Sedona. 4 hours and 11 miles out and back.

That looks good, where did it come from, if you don't mind me asking? My green one has been missing the top cover for years.

Finally started installing my big 11" screen.
Because of the massive size i had to re style air vents, relocate the clock and outside temp with antenna button. Still a lot to do but it will look nice when finished.

You know, of course, that you have gone completely mad. (Also, you seem to have inadvertently moved your steering wheel to the wrong side .)
