Ok I will be first to ask, where did you get the part? part #?

Ebay for $97 to the door, but I had a coupon that made it cheaper. Its expensive, but I was tired of the worn out looking one when everything else around it looked great.

As others mentioned its part # 35921-60180. The shift lock button cover is available locally for $2, part # 33554-60100.

The two pins with blue wires that connect to the OD button on the shifter, run through the silver shaft to wire harness under the lower position indicator housing. They need to be disconnected to remove the shift know and replace the control position plate. Follow the black wire from the shifter to find the correct connector.

Once the main cover (with the cup holders and buttons etc.) is removed, disconnect the white connector (where the red arrow is below), unwrap the wire from around the housing, and then pull out the two pins out of the connector. Use a straight pick to lift the tabs holding the pins as you push the pins out through the back of the connector. You can see the black wire cover coming out of the bottom of silver shift lever shaft. Once the pins are out of the connector, remove the two screws from the shift knob and then pull the shift know straight up, guiding the wire through the shaft. The old Control Position Indicator Plate pops off on 4 corners and new one pops right back on. Reverse to re-install.

Under my console is rusty and a little dirty, like they seem to get. I didnt feel like getting into it, so I just buttoned it all back up. My silver shift lock/OD button part fell out of my shifter at one point, but just snapped back in. It's not necessary to remove that part, the shifter knob just pulls straight up.

I think I see it. I actually see 2 TEEs.

Does this mean I need 2pcs of those TEE fittings? 🤔

Yup, there are two, and yours appear to have been replaced before given the worm gear clamps. How many miles are on your truck? For peace of mind I'd do it again but I'd bet they're not in bad shape.

I got this 2 months ago @ 234k miles and I have just racked 1500 miles since (now at 235,500). I was just inspecting it a while ago and looks decent probably on the last service they just replaced the oe clamps with the worm gear clamps. The Tee comes in this weekend and this will be my project along with the cabin filter.

@erse While you’re down there, if your leather shift knob is trashed you can replace it with the molded rubber version: How to: Non-Leather Shift Knob replacement - '98-'02

Edit: I don’t see a 100 in your sig so this may not be relevant to you...

So, you're the one who bought the RDO 100! That rig is SWEET!
Thanks I'm enjoying the frequent trips to the carwash  Black vehicles in the desert equal always dirty! Once I sell the 62 and hopefully close on a new house I am looking forward to some new tires and some actual driving time in it.

dang that little piece is over $100??? lol ill keep my old warn one for that price. but yours looks really good!
If you’re feeling crafty, somebody posted awhile back with detailed instructions to print your own decals and DIY refresh the position indicator.

All new Denso O2 sensors. Not a bad job at all. Recommend doing the fronts from underneath rather than the wheel well though.

Any benefits to doing those if they aren't fouled?

Not if they were fully functional, more PM. I was going to do both upstream and downstream at the same time so I just did both sides. Going to clean and keep the working ones I removed for spares, hoping for some mpg back lol

After slicking tbe ECU (disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes) then idling for 30 I took it for a 100 mile ride after filling up. 30 city, 70 highway. Miles/gallons to fill showed 16mpg!! Highest I ever saw prior was 12.5. I know it'll prob come back down a little but I figure the original O2 sensors with 190k might have needed replacement
