What did you use for screws on the tailgate cover?

I am not the first one to come up with this but well nuts are a great option for securing diy tailgate covers. You can see them in action and the specifics in this video

The cruiser got a new TRD Off-Road little sister this weekend.

Any tips on how to do this?
Last time I checked the FSM, it called for some sort of special tool.
The doors are bolted on the pillars, they seem to only be adjustable forward and backwards, not in and out. So, then you can loosen the bolts and move the door back or forward on each hinge. Back a little bit more on the lower will raise the latch so it doesn't drag on the striker. When the hinge pins get a little worn, this is what happens. It was very common on my old Camaros. Maybe I should do a little video of it and finish the job, not the easiest to explain I guess. Its much more pleasant now shutting the door, and no longer annoying. I did not need any special tools, I did mark the location of the hinge before I loosened it. This way, I know how far to move it.

Long-time 80 owner here. Woke up at 145 am in Columbia, Missouri Saturday morning to fly out of St. Louis at 6 am for a flight to Philadelphia. Philadelphia transfer to Hartford, CT. Picked up a super clean ‘03 with 127k miles. Amazing undercarriage for a northeast vehicle. Spent life in a heated garage. Drove 18-hours back with a friend. I’ve got 2018 Tundra wheels and tires ready to go (only 600 miles on them) and am putting owner-supplied powerstop rotors and OEM shocks on it tonight. The Cruiser and Tundra will be twinsies in the wheel and tire department. Will mount some beefy ATs on the stock rims for our Moab and Colorado summer trips. 30mm spring spacers and crank the t-bars a bit and call it a day for now.

Got the OEM shocks on the ‘03 I bought Saturday. Boy, the rears are a booger. I think I’d rather do the PHH on an 80. I’ve got gear wrenches but not a 22mm for the top nuts. I ended up with a vice grip on the top nut and a small pipe wrench to loosen the shaft. Slow and tiring but effective. If I did it again, I’d run out and buy a 22mm knock-off gear wrench.

Removed the Bilsteins.

New OEM. Only $40/each. Surprised they weren’t $140/each. You can see the Krown rust preventer on my half shaft (that’s what she said).

Looks like it spent the night in east St. Louis without wheel locks. ;)

Looks like there are a lot of fun tools & toys in that garage

Nice find on the 100

Yep, a few in there. That's a '72 GMC on the far right. Ducati Multistrada in the middle.

In my family since new. Grandfather bought it in March '72.

the best $24 you'll spend.

Ha! Yep! I've got a complete set on order actually. I've got gear-wrenches but not flex heads and only go to 18. I love buying new tools.

Yep, mine were all 22. I've got them off and the new on but need to snug the rears.

Yeah just make sure the sizes are right. When I was replacing mine, the old shocks were not OEM and I had to get a 22 mm and a 24 mm.

Anyone care to guess what my project this weekend will be?

Thanks to CruiserOutfitters for the super quick shipping. My rig should drive like new after this.
