I need some sort of sleeping platform so I’ve been looking to order some KISS drawers or SS1 platform. I couldn’t decide which one would fit my needs better and really didn’t want to spend another $700 right now. So since I’m relatively handy with a wrench and a saw, I decided to go with the DIY method.

The rear portion is finished and it’s approximately 41”x52” and mounted to 1” by 12” black iron pipe legs with floor plates. The platform is 1/2” birch plywood with 3/8” foam covered in marine carpet. I still need to make the 32”x52” sleeping extension but so far, I’m happy. Once everything is complete, it should be well under 50 pounds and $250. If this doesn’t work out like I hope, I’ll probably end up ordering the SS1 platform.

Regarding the eBay wood wheel, does yours have grey or tan leather? I'm having a hard time finding a tan leather wood wheel to match my '98 LC.

It is grey color. It doesn't match the grey interior or the tan interior. I have considered looking for a matching dye and trying that. Honestly I have just gotten used to it at this point.

Got a killer deal and made the move to 35s! Loving it so far.

Going in for gears and lockers next week:)

Wish you would've taken a shot of the 285/75r17 maxx next to the 315/70r17 ko2s mounted for real life comparison

Any adjustments besides the pinch weld to fit?

Does it feel like you need to re-gear anymore so than the 285's?

Looks awesome - Great stance

I actually planned to take some photos but it got so crazy at the tire shop I was at I didn’t bother them with it. I’m not sure there is really much difference at all in height. According to gps I’m still right at 7mph over at 55mph on the speedometer. It doesn’t feel much different power wise, but it darn sure drives better. It’s so much smoother and quieter. I know everybody loves the ST Maxx but they just weren’t for me.

Even though the 315s are noticeably wider (and they look sooo good) I don’t have any rub at all. And yeah, just the pinch weld mod. I’m very happy.

Those crazy Raptor guys. I can’t believe the dude bought a brand new truck with 315 Ko2s on it and sells them with the wheels for $500 just to get the same size ridge grapplers and some black 18” aftermarket wheels. He didn’t even take the TPMS off the wheels I got. All the tires still measure 15/32 too. I can’t tell them from the new 5th KO2 I bought from the tire place Sunday. More money than sense I guess:meh:.

Yeah you killed it on that deal.

These are big trucks we drive - that extra width definitely looks more proportional.

Agreed - I don't love the ko2 because of the hype, I like them because they work.

I'm surprised at no other mods to make them fit - I think you found the optimal setup for your trail rig.

Took the cruiser out to the deer lease this past weekend. We have an f250 for all the heavy lifting, but the cruiser is a ton of fun to get around the property. I even had to use my bull bar to nudge some cattle that didn’t feel like vacating the ranch roads.

The last 4-5 miles headed out there is all on dirt FM roads, and the cruiser did great at 60+ mph. This is one of the handful of reasons I’m glad I went with a 100 over an 80 as I believe it is more versatile in filling my needs. Sometimes I like to go fast!!

Had the ujoints replaced and driveshaft balanced. Now the humming/throbbing starts at 50mph instead of 60mph!! Its worse than ever.

Time for some thread searching...

Did you do just the rear drive shaft ? Maybe the front is due ? I hate when you spend the time and money and get all excited to cure the problem and then..........:bang:

Just the rear since I drove around with just the front installed and my bad vibes were gonzo.

I took a chance with MOOG ujoints. Current research says I was mistaken, OEM is the way to go.

Emailing Onur this minute. Going to get rear 2 replaced (again) and the front 2 done as well with OEM.

Why do it right when you can do it twice?!

Keep us posted if this cures the problem..........

Well... Elsie finally left me stranded. :bang: 120K miles since I bought her and this morning the dreaded ABS/Brake and alarm came on while carrying my son to school. Pulled over and stopped. Tried pumping the brakes, but no joy. So now I believe it's time for the booster pump. I had AAA tow the truck home. When I went to pull it into the driveway, the pedal went to the floor and I had to stand on it to stop.

I guess it's good timing in that it happened while I was local and not traveling but bad in that I need my truck fixed as I am supposed to be out of town the next couple of weekends.

3" Stainless Steel Exhaust being fitted tonight...car up on the hoist, fitted but ran out of time to test. Clearer pictures tomorrow and a video of the sound. Started it up to check for leaks and it has a nice sound so far. Looking forward to see and hear the difference! (excuse the WD40 splashes)...integrated collector turbo back...great fit!
