Anybody care to guess what I did to my 100 this week? To make it interesting, the first to guess correctly wins an original "Rick Russell's Off Highway Adventure Series" VHS Cassette from my collection. Here is your first picture clue of three.

Charging up the new aux battery system?

Getting colder...second clue.

Long range tank?

Winner! PM me your address and I'll send your prize. Total range with the Long Range Automotive replacement 150L replacement tank was over 450 miles running about 75mph on the FL Turnpike. I think I could get 500 miles out of it if I tried harder or had a tail wind. Any leads for an board toilet mod?:hillbilly:

hot damn that's cool. How hard was the install?

Running board delete (finally) passenger side front bracket kind of a pain with the rear air conditioning lines/protection bracket in the way. Sure does look better though.

What have I done on my Cruiser this week? I'm making a list of tasks to bring this new-to-me rig up to snuff. Here are some things that I've learned.

[snip]

(2) The mechanic missed a couple things. First, the CD player/changer does not work. The cassette doesn't eject from its slot in the center console. Second, the windshield wiper fluid system doesn't work. You can hear a pump working when you hit the trigger, and the wipers do their thing, but zero fluid comes out of the nozzles. What else did he miss? Time will tell.

Fixed the vacuum tubing on the wiper fluid system, then got this:

@Ward Harris, info here Long range fuel tanks

The tank fit like a glove, such a nice unit, mounting it was a breeze. The fuel pump assembly mods caught me a little off guard but were not that difficult once we procured a welder. The instructions stated that we needed to "lengthen the frame with the bracket provided." It is not a bolt or clip on operation. We also needed an angle drill adapter to install the front passenger side bracket anchor. Add those items to your list if you intend to DIY.

No jacks or jack stands needed with the 2" lift. It took two of us about 4-5 hours total to get it done over the weekend and nobody got hurt. It's a 6 beer job, so add a 12 pack to your list of supplies.

It fills up with the fuel pump handle pulled all the way, but takes a while for nearly 40 gallons and you have to swipe again after the first $75.

Installed some rock lights. Need to extend 2 wired and move 1 light per side to behind the rear wheels. Have not messed wirh it too much, but I like that it works Bluetooth through an app and I didn’t need to add a switch.

Finally had time to take care of the clear coat peeling on my door handles. All four looked like the one pictured. I removed them, sanded, primed and painted them with a custom mixed aerosol made by a local body shop supply. Followed it up with 3 coats of matching clear. Sometime later this week I will wet sand and polish them to add a little more depth and gloss while getting rid or some of the orange peel. The passenger side needs a little more refining due to a spray nozzle issue on the second to last clear pass.. Color match was great!

Very nice. Where is the photo of the gas pump total price? or did you close your eyes haha. Would love to have a long range tank one of these days.

You have to swipe twice! It's $75, then $30ish.

Took the money from an accident I was involved in and put on a new muffler, clamps, etc. Also replaced the lower and upper front and rear and all the bushings, ordered all new hangers, clamps, nut and bolts....took a little bit more than the 2500 I got but she rides great again. Trying to get her happy for a coast to coast see America trip soon. There were other things I should replace but so far everything I’ve been doing has kept my girl happy..I’m at 214k, and lot of the mechanical has never been touched. Was wondering about the AC, nothing to my knowledge has ever been done like adding refrigerant and it just keeps on working. :)

Started pinstripe removal tonight which have probably been on the truck since new. Not coming off easily. :bang: Unfortunately I let the heat gun go too long on one area and I actually gouged a little of the paint by accident just under the mirror, so pissed about that one!!! Now I know what not to do....
