Got my truck back from the bodyshop (rear bumper was replaced with new OEM). Then went to the exhaust shop and had a resonator and tailpipe (with stock exit location) to welded to my Doug Thorley catback to cut down on the drone... Driving my mom's '14 LX for the days it was in the shop made me realize how much I missed a quieter exhaust!

Dare I say, the exhaust note outside the truck is now louder than the Borla system, but quieter than it inside the cabin with VERY minimal drone! It has a tighter sound with less burble at idle but still sounds wonderful when you floor it. Day-to-day driving especially in the city is much more enjoyable now.
Would like to see pics and more details on this as I had the DT Catback on my wife's LX and removed it because she complained of the drone.

A video like your previous Borla vs DT would be awesome !

We'll do! I'll try to get pics and a comparo video done this weekend when I have time.

The bill for the bodyshop work came to almost $100 less than what I was quoted, so I figured seeing how the exhaust/pipe bending shop was on the way...

I had intended on just getting an estimate and some parts recommendations as I had to get to work, but they said they could fit me in right there and the bill would be only around $120, I figured what the hell, and I had an hour to kill. They got me in an out in under an hour, and when I heard it in the shop I smiled because the throaty, bossy exhaust note remained when revved, but at idle it was a bit more civilized.

As soon as I pulled out of their parking lot I started laughing because the in-cabin noise intrusion was cut down by at least 60%. It's still not as quiet as OEM but then again, you could hear a mouse fart over the stock exhaust note. Driving to work I opened it up on the highway and it still has that nice throaty tone quality, but you do not hear every single throttle input driving around town and during moderate acceleration in traffic. They left a little extra tailpipe length hanging out the back in case I wanted to modify it, which I will, but that's for another day.

I have to remount my hitch but my friend is going to help clean it up and clean up the frame mounting points before reinstalling.

Ben is working on my bumpers, so that means I will soon have a place to stick lights, winch, etc... I think to myself, "of course, now I need some switches to control it all, but why just install one at a time because surely I will want more one day?" Next thing I know, I have this in my hands. I think the slippery slope just flung me off of a cliff.

ARB, but much more expensive.

I paid about $60 on Amazon, with free shipping for the Viair. Pretty inexpensive to give it a try, was my thinking.

Please post again on how that project works out, never seen one before

Good god, need a 5.7L
my thoughts exactly! my wife's 06' GX feels like a rocket compared to my fat rig. I'm so invested in it, that I need to keep it for at least 2 years before I move to a 200 series. That way when I sell it, It wont hurt as much.

275/70/18 KO2's! The spare is a tight fit but it goes in. I think I need to raise the front a bit.

Moved up from 275/65/18 Michelin LT/2. I got 80,000 miles out of them!

Ditto, my wife's GX feels nimble in comparison.

And my son's 4Runner (V8) feels like a racecar.
