Hrmm, mine is chrome:

Mines an 03 - wonder if it changed over the years...

Really cant get enough of that onyx interior... sexy

I've been wondering about this. Lots of expedition guys run them backwards. I guess it prevents bugs and debris from building up?
Running your snorkel backwards helps out a bunch when you are riding in a convoy. Imagine being in the back of a 8 car crew on a dirt road.

Brake controller installed and s belt replaced.

And this evening finally towed my new trailer with the Hundy. It towed it really well, even with my 100-lb.-Overweight pony inside. I love this truck more every day. It does every single thing I need it to.

Got the fuel filter replaced. Tomorrow, the cruiser is getting toyota braks pads to the front and rear along with a brake flush. Also new rear toyota shocks.

Look at my post just after yours, with the brochure pic. The logo is simply molded in to the soft rubber of the airbag cover.

I think I like the chrome. (Not sure I've ever said that before).

Mines an 01' built in may of that year. I have the stupid freaking navigation too. I'd probably give up the chrome emblem for a non nav version.

Do you always run your snorkel scoop backwards?

I had it backwards b/c there was heavy rain on the drive up and although I don't know if I will get any water in I was playing it safe. Snorkel is new to me so not sure whether I need to worry about the water or not - going to monitor it and see.

Late night shenanigans...Mocking up prototype quick release mounts for the roof top tent and watching rugby...Wouldn't mind having comfortable camping in the bush on some days but I don't want to have the tent on there all the time. Easy come easy go...

Finally got done with my daughter's starter replacement on her 05 TSX! So I tackled my valve cover gaskets on white chocolate! Not sure if the ones I removed where original or not but seemed to be in good condition! Hope this takes care of my oil smell /weep! Pcv grommet was hard as a rock and definitely needed replacing, pulled out with needle nose!

Replaced the front speakers in my 98. Had to cut the spider frame from the outer mount to mount them up. Once I took my time and figured it out, the other door went much quicker. From start to finish, both doors about 1.5 hrs. I still need to do the rears, but "honey dos" are in the way at the moment. I think I can do the rears in about an hour.

Went back out and knocked out the rear speakers. The rear speaker frame is very close so I had to modify it by removing the cardboard part and mounting the speakers directly to the plastic. All in another 1.5 hours.

And by the way... 1998 stock Land Cruiser speakers are 4 ohm.

Wow, good idea. How do you hoist the tent on top?

Hit the front seats with chemical guys leather cleaner and conditioner, came out great. Gotta get it baselined and take some better pics and start a hello thread.

Started on making some recovery point patterned after the ones from Roadsafe. But in 3/4 in. steel and 3 bolts in 2 planes rather than 2 bolts in a single plane.

New shovel and mount! Extendable Fiskars on quick fists. The shovel handle is a smaller diameter towards the blade so I need to get a smaller quick fist for that side..
