1999 LX470 with 237000 vehicle.

The belt was a napa brand the shop put on it(could still read stamp.)

Feel I was lucky without internals damaged from all the reading. All the tensioner pulleys s pun out fine everything looked good under the cover so not sure but it's alive and good to go!

Sadly sold the old girl. Have had a 100 of some kind or two at some points for 8 or 9 years now and they are magnificent and people seem to know. Mine sold in a day at near full asking price of 9500. Not bad for a 16 year old truck with 263k miles but she looked and ran like a quarter of that.

In all her glory. Cheers guys!

Thanks for all your contributions on the 100 forum, hope to see you back on here with a new project!!

Broke a key shell a couple of months ago, so I was going on one good one and one taped and rubber banded up. So, on Sunday I decided to visit Fleabay and find a new key shell. I found a seller doing them for $3.33 each with free shipping. I decided to order two. They arrived today. The quality of the plastic seems better than the 18 year old original. I swapped over the internals from the broken shell and took a quick trip to my local Ace Hardware for a key cut. They charged me $1.07 (with 0.7 cent sales tax).

For $7.73, I've got a second key again & a spare shell for any future needs.

I had a set of frame recovery brackets made up for my LX470 by @reevesci and they arrived today. These things are pure beef:

The only other options were Duiser, which never responded to my emails, Black Peak Supply which is always out of stock, or the yellow Australian ones which are too pricy and take too long to ship. I threw on a few coats of primer and some red engine paint I had lying around and mounted them up. Here's a shot with a Van Beest greenie:

Here's one next to the original tie down:

Jason was awesome to work with and handmade them for me in record time.

^ Ditto - could use a pair on the rear.

@reevesci / Jason, any plans?

I could really use a set of those. We're they expensive (if you don't mind me asking)

I'll know more in about a week. I sent a file in to my cutter for cutting and bending. Waiting on pricing now. I'm working with a new company and have them pretty loaded up on bids and file recreations right now.

Installed my Black Friday special opor 20w led lights from MetalTech wired into the factory fog light switch. Picture quality isn't that great but are definitely better than the factory fog lights. Also gave me a chance to mess with my bumper design a little bit since they sent the flange style instead of the stud mount. Installed some new UCA's today.

Installed a ipod and usb interface to stereo system, also applied loop tape on contact areas around heater vents and centre console to get rid off squeeks and rattles, used fabric cable ties to reduce the cables rattling within the dashboard.

Replaced gate handle and sub assembly. Original handle was missing and one of the sub assembly attachment points was broken off.:hmm:

What is loop tape? Velcro? How well did it work? I've had the vents and center console out several times and have picked up some rattles. Never heard of fabric cable ties. I'll give them a try too.

I used to work in a dealership and one of the main complaints was rattles, the parts department would have reels of different tapes we would use to eliminate these rattles, there was three types that we just called furry tape, sponge tape and cloth tape(not the correct names no doubt). The closest I could find to the furry tape was the loop tape that is one half of Velcro, it's not exactly the same but fairly close. Fabric cable ties are again Velcro, I think they are just called reusable cable ties.

What I found with the centre dash piece fitted to the 100 is that it is one of the worst I have come across in that anywhere you press on it, it creaks because of the vent mechanisms and the gear indicator in the centre console creaks when flexed slightly. Creaks, squeaks and rattles can be hard to eliminate but you can minimise them with tapes and even silicone if need be.
