What have you done to your 100 Series this week? (103 Viewers)

Changed the oil and rotated the tires. Really the only service needed right now after a 6000 miles trip towing my 3200 lb camper from the midwest to the west coast and back. The Land Cruiser performed flawlessly and took on 6% mountain passes to 8600 feet, beach driving in Oregon, and long stretches of Interstate mountain driving in temps over 100 degrees. Scangauge showed no issues with heat in engine or trans and that wonderful small block V8 averaged 10 mpg in 4th gear. I'll probably flush some other oils this fall, but at 125,000 miles, this thing still seems like new. I think I owe it some new Ironman foam shocks, eh?

Unfortunately the 80 spoiled us, it was simple and super strong with just 4 hose clamps on the handles. The 100/LX470 has 3 different handle position through the years and they are wider than the 80 creating some challenges. I will start a thread about the challenge I found. The good part is the look is tight to the headliner, strong with a factory look.

@LandCruiserPhil - How easy is it to remove? There are times I have to throw my bike in the back and the seat fits just under the headliner. Although I'm sure I'd leave the rack installed 95% of the time.

I used screws (4) so less than 1 minute.

I figured out while having it serviced yesterday that I have put 22k miles on my LC since I bought it at the end of December. It needed a new air filter for the second time this summer.

So. Today I figured I would add a bunch more miles by driving to Lake George to solo kayak out to the Narrows. It was so hot, so humid, and so beautiful. I had a light headwind, then a strong tailwind on the way back. I swam off an island. I smiled all day. I simply felt glad to be alive.

I did drink my last Montana beer, tho. :/

I appreciate it! No, I was being serious. Should have clarified a bit in my post though. This was my second iteration - first attempt was trying to do something similar to yours. In the end, it was beyond my current toolbox to make a flush mount and fabricate a custom rack.

Are you guys just using shelving from Lowe's? What's the depth?
