I am new to the 100 series. Coming from the 40 forum OCD Bettle has a really successful, fun thread where we post a pic of wheeling, a fix, a new part, etc. for our trucks.

It's neat to see the mix of projects, daily driving issues, weekend wheelin reports, etc.

I thought the 100 forum could use one...

I'll start...today I ordered an Iron Man 2 inch lift kit for my 99'.
Put a new clutch fan on me 100dee omg so quite and all my power is back .. Best thing ever

Newbie welder so I had my buddy Nick weld the Slee wing supports to the frame. Can't be too careful...

Some rough body work to clean up some damage from Hawk Pride a few months ago, four coats of paint, four cots of clear, new molding = time to hit the trails again:

So the leather on the driver seat is finally taking a beating. I had a hole forming in one section. I do not want to get into the cost of reupholstering and once you get a tear seat covers are not going to stop it, so I did a little DYI repair job.

The first thing was to gather some supplies from around the house. Kids glue is great because it cleans up well and if flexible when dry. The adhesive spray is for getting the patch past the hole to adhere well. The zip tie is to work the patch into the seat. The 10-pound weight is used as a press once you have the work done. For the patch I used some brown microfiber fabric that was used on a couch.

Next I trimmed the hole a little to get rid of the rough edges

Then you take a zip tie and work the patch under the leather, trimming the patch to get a good bit past the rip. This will be what holds it and keeps it from getting worse

Then I pull out the patch, spray the adhesive on it, quickly get the patch back in place. Then at the edges use some white glue, use the patch scraps to put over the repair and then lay the 10lbs weight on it for one hour to set up.

Done!!

Really minimal cost, I had everything around the house, of course, you might have to buy the fabric. Now at least you can put a cover on the seat and the foam is protected. Couple hour drive on Sunday taking the youngest to camp held up great and will keep and eye on it the next couple of weeks.

Two weeks ago changed out water pump, old one was leaking (1st pic). Put on new timing belt while doing so. used instructions here spressomon and here scottm great help. Been having battery light coming on and off sporadically for a few months now. After searching threads decided i will change the alternator, did that today. Next on the list is the power steering pump. First i removed air box, took off negative lead at battery, then i drained radiator coolant in a bucket so that i could reuse it. i then removed the lower radiator hose made it a lot easier to remove alternator from top of truck, i then took the belt off. First pic of alternator showing where screw is to remove battery power lead. 10mm i removed this while alternator was still attached. I then removed power steering pump and pulled the alternator out and unplugged the electronics power lead. Then i wiggled it out of the top. Wiggled new one in and plugged electronic power lead in then mounted it on its mounting screw. Then put power steering pump on, then serpentine belt. I then put the battery power lead back on and put on some dielectric grease and placed cover on the screw. Then cleaned battery post and put dielectric grease and battery terminal spray on them. I also changed the upper and lower hoses with new ones and poured coolant back in radiator.

Love your odometer.

Me too.

OP...is that 400k loving miles or do we beat on it a little bit?
It goes to camp grounds but not mudding. I'm a dj so i do a lot of driving and vacationing from houston to other states. North carolina, florida and all over the great big state of texas. I am second owner bought it with 63000, engine replaced at 398000 when upper radiator hose blew on me while on my way to a show. Even though i pulled over and shut it down my mechanic said it warped the heads. So I roll on, such a great truck. If you consider cruising at 100 on the highway beating it then yeah sometimes.

Nice. Keep it forever!

I kept a first gen 4runner for 300k miles...wish to heck I still had it.

I drove it to the Mohonk Preserve to trail run. Met some turkey vultures. It was downright primordial in the woods today; I felt like I was running in a swamp.

Now for some Leatherique and vacuuming!
