Since I never talk about mods and I recently shared this with a friend, I figure I should share it here too.

The switches are not the ones I wanted. I have some sitting on my office floor which are so dreamy and Land Cruiseresque but my husband was worried about how they would look mounted. The ones he used ended up looking really clean and I like the fact that you don't notice them at all in the driver's seat. They control the front floods and spots, and rear floods. I wanted them where the ashtray was located, so my husband fabbed up a piece of metal, painted it, and placed the switches there. There is a ton of room behind that ashtray and I'm sure I'm not the first one to come up with the idea to put switches there.

Then, we put CBs in the same place in both LCs. I had a big box connected to the one I had in my 4R and it took up a lot of room. I've gotten a little snotty about how well things mesh with my LC and while I love modding it I still want the interior to look beautiful. I think this cb works well in that capacity.

New front sway bar bushings (the ones that mount to the frame), as well as all new rear bushings, links, and hardware. Went OEM on everything except the rear bushings that mount to the frame - decided to go with the Ricochet poly bushings there. I just wanted to see if I noticed any difference with them and hoped they would tighten up the rear sway a little bit more. Maybe, maybe not. Finished late tonight so will test drive tomorrow. Something about a handful of Toyota parts bags gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside...

Also noticed a little bit of pitting in the ASB due to small rust spots, so I wire wheeled and sanded it smooth and hit it with a few coats of red because I wanted to. Went a little overboard on the poly bushing grease but I will clean that up tomorrow. And yes I know my undercarriage is dirty, I took a trip to the Ouachita Nat. Forest last week and just haven't had time to wash her. I'll take dirt over rust any day though!

Changed front brake pads. One of the many things to commend Toyota on, they make changing pads, especially the fronts, SUPER easy. Don't even have to take off the caliper - pull two pins, slide out old pads, compress pistons, slide in new pads, replace pins - done!

Drove the Potash Rd and part of the Shafer Trail in Moab today. Really hot, but a great day.

Installed a Gamiviti rack!
Expo +++ with sunroof cutout, drop down basket, back half mesh, and snap on fairing.

Thanks @nakman!!!

Also installed a dual voltmeter to monitor the dual battery setup, cleaned out my evaporator and drain, and resealed the evap door.

Cool to see the front sway bar removed like that. I just ordered new bushings from Amazon (AC Delco). My passenger side sway bar link broke, so I'm waiting for that part to come in. I kept hearing a donk sound when turning left and found the link bolt sheered.

Put in new battery and positive battery post connector yesterday. There is a wire attached to the fuse block on this post that seems to be loose and i think it was the cause for the battery seeming to be dead after flushing the power steering this morning. The fuse that the loose wire connects to says Alt. on top. Gonna see about tightening the wire and see if i have an issue with battery afterwards. I will post results.

Cleaned power steering reservoir and flushed system and replaced fluid with full synthetic automatic transmission fluid. I raised the truck put it on jacks and turned the wheel from lock to lock. I first turned it left, then went and filled reservoir again, then turned it right, and went and filled reservoir again. I saw that the fluid was Clear i closed it all up. Turns really smooth now, i will do another flush in a couple of days. I can still hear a faint whine when turning i think its just going to be a little whine no matter what. I read somewhere someone changed the power steering pump and they could still hear a whine. After spraying the reservoir withe the cleaners i ran the water hose with a spray nozzle on it to rinse it out as much as possible.

How was the ride, did you test it yet?

Replaced PCV valve. Starting small to troubleshoot P0430 code. :meh:
