Friday I didn’t accomplish much. Bolted the valve covers on.

Saturday I went to my grandmas and put a tire on her car, stocked her up on fuel.

Mother’s Day today so I focused on momma. However we accomplished a lot this morning and she napped in the sunshine while kids napped. So dad did 40 things.

Tacked the engine mounts in. Realized I messed up and need to cut 3 of the 4 off and slide the rear of the transfer case passenger about 1.5”. “Easy fix”

It’s at least it’s holding itself in there right now.

It’s a good stopping point until tomorrow when I have more parts anyway.

the new mid-dump ones look like they would be ideal. I just haven't tried them. Be a trailblazer for us (again).
Or do G9080's and use a banjo bolt on the clutch slave and be done :D

I almost ordered the mid dump.

I really like how thes manifold fit otherwise and they will make exhaust routing very easy.

It don’t love the motor mounts I have, advance adapters one definitely will not work with these manifolds.

So I deduced I’m building engine mounts..

Bump. It's been like a whole week, is this driving yet?

I am saying this not to try and hinder your progress but.. I have not great results using suspension bushees as engine mounts. With how much you actually drive, expect to change them every two years or so. Since you are building anyways, any reason you cant use the GM truck mount?

Are you tracking your time-ish? Just curious.
I’d love to do an eventual 1fz fe swap just for looks and lineage but, the LS package passes the common sense test on a bunch o’ levels.

I had this fear on the suspension style mounts. Dammit. I definitely do not want to deal with vibrations.

I looked at using the truck mounts. It’s definitely possible. I felt like being lazy and using these.

However you have talked me into looking at the stock truck mounts again at least. I have all the things to do it.

I want this thing on the road. However I don’t want to have to cut it up in a couple years and do it again.

The truck mounts definitely fit. I’ve done it.
The issue with the spring bushing mounts is how much a 40 frame flexes. They’ll be ok and the next the bushing will be just completely blown out

Thanks Matt. I think I’ll just back up and punt the universal mounts and hookers.

Like I said I want to just be done the first time. It’s worth a little more down time.

I'm the previous owner, yeah, its a weber 36dfg. worked great and was cheap as dirt.

I'm PO. wiring burned itself to a crisp. i was in collage. I did what i could do to keep the thing running for 15 years.

Good to see you here! This thing has became a staple in the family

I hope to catch you some day and let you take it for a spin
