Not in this you didn't. I had to squint at this crazy fella waving like a mad man from the shotgun seat in a FJC.

practiced opening and closing the new Rtt . closing can sometimes be difficult

I agree with the difficulty of closing a Roof Nest Falcon. I have that same model. Ali got a kick out of me sitting on top of it using my weight to get one of the clamps closed. :bounce: Great RTT, otherwise. I may grind down the latches a little to make an easier job of it. What roof rack do you have?

Warrior Products Full length flat rack.

Started on my biggest project yet!
Only took me a whole day to pull this off my donor truck.
I have a feeling I need to learn to read wiring diagrams.

For that? You have a backup switch on the tranny, and a 4x4 switch on the transfercase.

Yea, and then its going into a auto wiring harness and ecu. People say that you just need to repin a few connectors, so I don't think I need to pick up an ecu yet.
Might end up doing that, just so that I can get a better fuel map.

I finished repairing my original charcoal canister in my 80! My canister wasnt working properly when I bought my truck and replaced it with the VC120 that is available at most parts stores. I came across this thread and decided to cut my tank open and fix it for good! I put an end to my Charcoal Canister problems for good!

I am happy to have the original can back in and functioning. No more fuel smell and pressurized fuel tank in the summer temps.

Now that you have taken yours apart and seen the inside. Do you think this can be done by drilling a hole to remove the charcoal, welding a nut on and using a bolt to plug it to drain and refill again when needed?

New exhaust pipe. I had my exhaust guy do a 3-bolt SBC flange for the Aussie header. Also, a weld-in bung, post header flange, for an O2 one-wire sensor. Tonight, I put an air/fuel readout on the old '75 Federal FJ40 EGR light bracket. It is a game changer for checking the carb's tune. I'm lean at hard throttle, and rich on a hot idle. Interesting, so mid test drive, I plugged the vac advance and corrected some of the lean and stumble at hard throttle. I have extra main jets for the original carb, should I drill it to the next numbered drill, or do a carb dip to make sure passages are unobstructed? Should I pull the head and get more vac by cleaning the top of the valves that were caked when the valve stem seals were leaking? Either way, I have a nice tool that can be removed and plugged after I get things worked out.

You could probably do this but I'm not sure you could completely fill the canister. The top plate has a spring that keeps pressure on the charcoal.

When I did many moons ago, I didn't buy finer charcoal like what came out of the canister. If I were to do this again, I'll try to find much finer than the usual stuff you find in pet stores.

Where'd the 4R come from? I'm going to rebuild the LCA on my 4th gen probably this week. Hopefully don't run into this situation.

It was driven in Alaska, but believe me when I say that my rust is very minimal. I've seen some rust buckets. My guess is these weren't spun all the way around very much. With discount at AmToy, a full set of bolts was around $130. Only the forward cams were seized, and because they're hollow they are easy to cut through once you pull the cam bolt out. The rearward cam bolts were not seized but I replaced them anyway.
The replacement control arms were around $150 each and they're Beck Arnley. Everyone I've spoken to has told me to not rebuild the old arms, and for a buck fifty each I agree. OEMs run 400+ each at AmToy if you want to do that

@LX450JC what did you pay for your loaded OEM lower arms from Japan?
