I stock piled parts all summer and never found the time. Finally got tired of tripping over the boxes and just dove in.
FSM procedure is a height measure, but more complicated than fender height. Hydraulic pressure doesn't drive the ride height, it is set by sensors. Front has sensor at each corner, rear has only one sensor. Pressure is affected by spring rates (front torsion, rear coil), not otherwise user adjustable. I laid under it at idle and pushed on the sensor mounting bracket until it was bent back where it started and height dropped down so my fender height is about right. That's essentially how the "sensor lift" works, but that's not what I'm after. All good now.
tonight I worked on buying the full DVD series (minus 4episodes) of Married With Children. Work was completed quickly. also, I researched flexible CB antennas to mate with my cobra 75w and took a few practice tests for a HAM license. I failed them all

Rebuilt a Warn M8,000 winch motor - the F2 terminal stud lost contact with the Field winding internally due to over twisting the stud. Then installed the "upgrade control pack" that sits on top of the winch and basically turned a M8000 into a M8000i winch!
Why did I go through this exercise vs just buying a motor from Amazon? These older motors are made in USA and the current crop of Warn motors are made all over, including China
So, if my fix doesn't take, that's always a fallback position or I might just buy another winch for parts!
The fix involved grabbing one of the copper bus bar from the solenoid pack and brazing it to the field bus bar that broke off. Leon had the correct brazing rod and experience for this project.
Now I need to turn my 3pin remote into a 5 pin remote.

Why aren’t you out wheeling??
Seems like it huh? It’s all stock locations.
The trans is in the stock position. Twin sticks are in hi and 2wd which is the forward position, coming up through the stock tcase shifter access hole. The ranger is in high also the forward position.

Let the surgery begin. Rebuilding the rear axle. Everything. Wheel bearings and seals (me). Rebuild the diff (U-Joints). New brakes (me). Everything.

Timing belt, water pump, thermostat, cam seals, front main, idlers, tensioner and new accessory belts on the girl's 4runner. Today it gets valve cover gaskets and I am going to dismount the tires to paint the wheels then new tires tomorrow. She's had to wait to register it because an appointment with the DMV couldn't be had until this week.
Quite a pile of parts there. Your girl is saving a lot of money on labor lol. I'm sure she appreciates it!

When she decided she wanted a different vehicle I told her that if she wanted me to work on it for her it had to be a Toyota and 4 wheel drive.

Haha. No. The only thing she argued about is that she wanted a Tacoma and I wanted her to get the 4runner. Now she's glad she didn't get the pickup.
She'll be glad when it snows (more planted than the Taco) and also when it lasts another ten years with basic maintenance.
