9/30/2019.... started out replacing a cracked hub dial and now I’m this deep. Scout and the FJ60 are both disappointed.
Nice surprise, I thought they were stock birfields

You had me at Scout. 🤪 That boy looks so dejected!!!

When i took off the hub dial, about 1/2 a cup of water poured out. Digging deeper, it got into the knuckle. Doing one side, gotta do both

9PM is last ball-throwing of the day, and its like 9:15PM :frown:
She's not allowed past the chicken wire into the shop, so she's really pushing her boundaries

12/10/2019 CV replacement so snow wheeling in the DD can happen.
Boot was FUBAR, dust shield was too and everything had been very wet so opted for the full shaft replacement instead of trying to salvage the dust shield. Soon more work on FJ60, parts are trickling in!

This is what I'm in the middle of. Developed a coolant leak and it appears to be coming from the front of the intake on the passenger side where it meets the head. This is my 98 Taco.

Oh, fun. How many miles?

140k. Pretty low in my book. Its been an intermittent leak for a few months and I thought it might be a freeze plug in the front of the head but not to be. I guess it could be the pipe in the intake valley too. I'll get the lower intake off and hopefully see it.

Dropped the old gal from Slee 4" to Dobinson 3". For the first time ever, I actually enjoyed working under this rig by having access to a real shop on base. My back is mucho happy :bounce:

Brakes, Part 1. New caliper, pads, caliper line, and new brake hose. Today, the other side.

and THIS is why you spend $10 at the Moab car wash vs $2 after camping :flipoff2:

I still have about a 100 pounds of mud under the truck

So my intake was definitely leaking but these head gaskets look like they've been seeping a little too. Looks like I'll be doing those too. Uggh!
Like unlike :frown:
