What did you do with your truck this week? (1 Viewer)

Lightened the 40 by over 100#'s by way of removing fenders and windshield, then added over 100# to the front with a winch.

Also removed the crappy GM saginaw pump and waiting on my PSC stuff to go back on.

Started cleaning up some parts to go on the "new" motor. Also started taking off some of the parts I dont need off of the motor and boxing them up for Marshall.

The motor is going Ford blue with all the add on's sun yellow. Chrome on the downey header was going down hill so I cleaned it up and slapped some high temp black on it. Got a package from ccot. Will be picking up the pace on getting her back on the road after GSMTR.

You know you just lost 15-20 HP when you painted it FORD blue.

J/K, glad you are getting it back together. Maybe I'll be back staying in Charleston some during the week again and I can give you guys' a hand after work some days.

I'm liking the colors already.

I installed my heater. Haven't hooked it up but it's installed. Looks good.

This year for GSMTR it's going to all be about what looks good on my cruiser. I'm not going for the whole "Does it work thing". That was so last year.

Need to clean out my tool bag. It still has mud in it from last years mud fest on the race track. I'm going to stay away from that this year.

Took the 40 on a 600 mile round trip to the mountians and back to do some fly fishing and golfing.... first time I have driven it in like 8 months over 10 miles and of course she didn't skip a beat. With great weather and the top off I fell in love with the 40 all over again, been driving it to work all week!!

Of course I forgot my camera so no pics to prove this, but I thought I'd share anyways

Also just bought some FST doors to go with the OCD top I have, now I can drive it in the winter time

Cannot wait to see the FST doors, I always liked them.

As far as what I have done....

Swapped the tires back from the truck to the 80 and the 80 to the truck. Test fitted the 315/75/16s on the 80 and the truck. Truck still has to go up if I am going to run them, I have trimed and pounded all I care to do at this point.

My truck's alternator is acting up so I ordered a GM alternator bracket for the 22re. Hope to order an alternator &/or pick one up so I can get that put on next week, hopefully before the alt gives it up completely. Maybe I wont have dimming lights and stuff with blinkers going after 100a+ :bounce:

Replaced a thermostat sending unit. Also discovered I need rear axle shims to stop the low frequency vibration caused by my OME lift that was just installed.

fixed it.

do you think you can manage to keep the seat belts on the inside of the truck this year, instead of flapping around behind the wheels?

Nah JP is coming this year and I've promised him he can ride shotgun. I don't think he would ride if my seat belt worked. He is already spooked about me having a roll bar.

I just hope I am not too late to sign up for lead safety officer..... I believe I have much merit in the realm of safety, hell I couldn't be any worse than chuck

Marshall good to see you are finally learning.....to hell if it works just as long as it looks good....cause the first thing I'd install would be a heater for the summertime......pure genius Marshall!

put some grease between the axle and shims, shims and springs, springs and spring plate to stop that AWFUL grinding/klacking noise... it sounded like my birfield was semi destructing every time I turned or flexed the suspension in any way,,

installing brake line on 60, bleeding brakes, clutch, may have it started today, depending on power steering pump alignment issues... but still need to get drive shaft shortened by about 1.5"
