Fuel (Fool) Injected V-8 and still running Coarse Splines, But I'm bringing Mark to help fix them!!!
:wrench::wrench::wrench: PRICELESS>>>>> See Ya soon....The Dog!!!

Saturday:
Spent all day under Bertha, removing & reinstalling the tcase so that we could change out a leaky seal on the front output.

Sunday:
Dropped Bertha's tank to "seal" up a leaky vent with JB weld.

Hammered the front alignment tabs back into place (again) on my truck's lower A-arm mounts, so that paying for an alignment will actually lead to a productive result :hillbilly:

Then I put all the skids back on... no small feat with my pringled skids :bang:

Test drove the 40 around the subdivision up to the clubhouse and hung by the pool. With the fenders removed and no windshield, I officially have the coolest "golf" cart in the area.

Just have to install a couple more bolts on the winch, change the rear diff cover out, and change the oil. Starting packing last night and should be ready for GSMTR by wed.:bounce::bounce2:

I got the shackles on the 62 today, lifted it about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I also found the looseness in my front end...the spring eye bushing were gone...I had some other springs around so I robbed them.
I'll be replacing the springs soon, so I'm not too concerned.

Working on the tire carrier.
I got my arm and everything made, and got my spindle on it. I am making the wheel spin freely on the rack :)

I just need to find some bearings for the hub so i can mount it all, and then make a clamp setup for the arm to get locked down.

Spinnaz are so 2001 Dan :D

but I got some extra 80 series wheel bearings if they would work, betting that spindle is too large though.

anyone believe Ive been swapping tires here again :D

Best thing is when people put a drink on the tire and it rolls on them ;)

...wheeled the snot out of mine at GSMTR! Exploded a CV during the rock crawl comp, replaced it in camp and back out running an hour later. Somebody better have pics of my attempted run, because I don't.

Broke a greasable spring pin on my first moderate trail. Replaced it with a solid CAT grade 8 bolt. Never buy those things if you plan to wheel hard. It broke right in the middle where it has been drilled out for the grease flow.

Other that that, the 40 drove great. Wish I could say the same about the trailer I was using. The axle broke free from the frame coming over Clinchs River and blew the tire. Spent 3 hours in a Lowes parking lot attaching it back and buying a new tire from Pep Boys. Got home around 8 pm safely.

Damn good effort on the Rock Crawl I might add.

Ordered some super bright LED reverse lights since one of mine just burned out and i'm a sucker for shiney things

I put a nice dent in the right rear of the 62, from just in front of the gas filler to the tail light.
I guess I shouldn't hve tried the Hellevator bypass in a long wheelbase rig.
From what I hear. I'm not the only one.

Got 'em! I'll get Missy to post them up, or at least shoot you a link to them.

Wheeled the wee out of the 80

and then pulled the stunt I like the least pulled on myself: the random cruiser stop by.
But ive seen the back end of a 40 sticking out of a garage in greensboro for a year now and finally saw the homeowner out doing some landscaping as well so I pulled the 45 in the driveway and said hello :)

low and behold it is a freaking shining gem of a rust free 1961 FJ-25 with a GM 6.2 diesel !!!!!!!!!!
needless to say I invited him to mud and told him I'd been to GSMTR all week and hes been to 8 of em but not to one in about 8 years. The owner Roy said "dem florida boys still crazy as all hell?" so I showed him jumpin jimmy on the camera to sum it up briefly and he said, yup looks about right.

gonna try and get him to Jocassee for our summer trip.

Bumping this thread back up...I know y'all did something with your trucks recently...post up.

I wrote up a pretty lengthy report over here from the Overland Workshop & Rally that was in Marion, NC (just east of Asheville).

This video got posted up last week and I thought I'd share it. It focuses on the hill climb section next to the camp and only shows a couple views of the trail system. It's fun little park that would be good for a 2-3 day weekend. I think the ONSC BOD are already looking into contacting the owners for pricing a weekend event.

I had a great time and I thank eventhough/Southeast Overland for inviting me to tag along for the weekend.

Got to have he house to myself this afternoon and tomorrow. So.. I put some burgers on the grill and tinted my door windows in the pickup and put in some sound deadening in the doors. The tint didnt come out too bad considering I havent done tint in 15 years and I had about $8 into supplies, and the tint. May get some pics up in my build thread in a few weeks. Working on getting my gears so I can put the BL and 35's on.
