For the 100, an oil change and new brake pads. Not exciting but a big thumbs up. 116k

Trying to grow enough balls to lift it now.

You have run that rig pretty hard for sure, and you haven't even broken a T-case output shaft :) My heavy foot was the culprit. Amazing how a new set of shocks and springs can wake up a rig. Same with all suspension bushings.
I did the bushings a few weeks ago - did you catch that adventure? https://forum.ih8mud.com/sc-upstate-cruisers/466136-all-4-gears.html
Hows the Wagoneer doing these days?

Stan, I had to start a build thread to keep track of it myself. She's actually a different animal since you last saw her! https://forum.ih8mud.com/jeep/376170-86-grand-wagoneer-build-wifes-rig.html

U know it is against man rules for the wife to have a nicer off road rig than her husband. Chapter 40 section six paragraph 3. Look it up man, look it up.:hillbilly:

I finally broke down and took my 62 in to replace the throttle/ trans shift cable on my 62. I would have done it myself, but I hate lying on my back with trans fluid dripping in my face.
Now to get the lift on before GSMTR!!

Decided to have at the rear bumper on the Cruiser. The truck didnt have the original rear bumper, jsut the crossmember. I decided to remove the rear crossmember entirely and repalce it with 2x4 square tube and put a reciever in it. I didnt want an aftermarket hitch to hit obstacles. For the bumper I am using 4x4 1/4 inch angle iron to cover over the crossmember and extend past it. I will box the anlge at the ends and add my spindle for the tire carrier from it. But I started and will keep at it.

I still dont have it welded on yet, i will do it tomorrow hopefully. I will add bracing for the crossmember, but it being 1/4 inch thick it is so much heavier than the stock one

Crawled under the 60 today and replaced the trannsmission mount and replaced the front nose cone seal.....no more leak and no more bouncing.....last leak to tackle is the oil pan gasket and I need a speedy sleeve for the front pinion.

Put more tire shine on the FJC than she's ever seen in her life but it is for a good cause. SEO is sponsoring a benefit for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation tomorrow in Columbia - the Spring Offroad Festival will have a RTI ramp, teeter totter, RC crawl comp, show n shine, and vendors.

Now I need a nap though...

How was your nap Steve....hope you didn't get to worn out

Absolutley f ing nothing, except work a side job to make some cash for parts. David pulled the oil pan and found a spun bearing on the #5. Now to figure out which is cheaper buying a 2f or the parts to rebuild mine.

or go ahead and put a 350 in it!!

Don't need that much power with the gearing. It's going back with a "70 "F".
I've seen all 4 tires spinning on the rocks.
A bigger motor would just spin them faster! (???)

Installed motor mounts, cap and rotor, fuel filter, got motor to idle and up and running well. Got DS front door to close correct, it was binding on front fender. Cleaned all the crap out of the interior. Took it for a road test, ran well.

Started the patch panels on the roof last night. First one was in the back about 2"X10". Fortunately all the rust I have seems to be only o the flat from the drip rail up prior to the curve over to the top. FOund a lot of bondo once I started grinding off the paint. Nothing like a million tack welds and grinding it down to make your evening :)

Drove 1150 miles round trip to Richmond, VA and back hauling a 4 x 8 box trailer. Barely knew that thing was back there until we got some weight in it. Stopped by Hardline Fabrication (Stan's shop) in Chesnee to pick up a spare rear axle shaft he wanted to sell. Saw the Picasso exhibit at the VMFA. Ate at some places downtown that Kitty used to frequent when she was at VCU. Found some great local brew called Legend and brought back a couple sixers.

Also discovered the root of my latest battery drain issue. My fridge's t-stat is on the fritz and it runs constantly without pause, even on the lowest setting. Hoping tech support is still as good as it was a couple years ago when they sent me a replacement. *crossing fingers*

It was good seeing you and Kat Rick.

Installing a snorkel this evening on the FJ Cruiser.

planning on doing some river fording? I want some action pics with the FJC breaking a bow wave!!

It's more for dust (Uwharrie was brutal a month ago) but here is a video just for fun. There was one more crossing this day that was similar, and I'm headed some where this weekend where it might come in useful.

Install was easy. 3 hours. Align your template and drill, paint, bolt, done. Hardest part was the darn plastic fasteners in the wheel well.
