Kinda fun seeing the worried facial expressions on my passengers when they heard the popping noises from the front end but figured I should probably go ahead and crank those bolts on the control arms. Cured it.

Couple of weekends back...
Got to play along as the mini-WarRig for our tribe of WarBoys at Wasteland Weekend.

can you guys elaborate on this? I have no idea what you are referring to but am intrigued

The City of Cedar Rapids is known as "The City of Five Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and the Season to enjoy all seasons". Well, we also have a nickname as "The City of Five Smells". Quaker Oats, Cargill, ADM, Penford, and General Mills. I live about a half mile from Quaker Oats so I get to smell maple syrup, brown sugar, Captain Crunch Crunchberries, Peanut Butter Crunch, generally good smells. If you live near Penford, Cargill, or ADM, life sucks if there isn't a breeze.

Well finally got tired of all the wires hanging everywhere in the thing. So I took some time and ran all the wires for my Cell booster under the trim and under the center console. Hard wired my phone/accessory charger ( 2 12 adapter with 4 usb's) into one of switched power connectors under the center console, and found a permanent spot for it Via a little Velcro up in front of the 4l lever.

Then it was on to my GPS, I hate that power wire hanging from up by the mirror, so I pulled the switch panel and front of the head liner down searched around till I found some Switched 12v. Cut up a Garmin charging cord and pulled the transformer out, soldered on some new incoming power leads to the board and shortened up the cable on the out going side and found a place for it to all rest between the headliner and roof. So now my GPS comes on when I turn the key but dont have to look at the stupid long cable hanging down to my 12v supply in the dash anymore.

Last but not least I am about to head for home (Montana) and needed to get something for my front plate holder ( clips on to my Fair lead rollers) to keep my plate and holder at least attached to the truck in case I hit a pot hole or something hard enough to dislodge it, So I made up a little safety tether out of some 1/16 stainless wire rope and a couple of cable crimps

Finished up the valve cover last night. Honestly? Kind of a fun little job to get my mind off everything. Didn't run into any real snags while doing it. I did, however, use a jigsaw to create a circular cutout to help with the spark plug seals. Made that a breeze

The spark plugs are in order, 1-6. Looks like a clean bill of health!

Back in business. Took it to a radiator repair shop though a little on the expensive side for the work done ($100) but a small price to pay if having to replace the complete 3 row radiator for $350+. She is back on the rig and I am continuing my work. Next up fill with Toyota red.

Ha, I decided against painting to keep it "original" but I did spend far too much time cleaning it! The real motive was that I wanted it up and running by tomorrow morning so I could drive it to the ORV park.

Green has been determined more readily available, cheap and also probably won't cause harm, no one really knows what is superior.

Red? Why red? I thought this has been determined that green is superior?!?!

Its what I had in the engine from when I did the new engine swap.

I think all of this leads to its superiority... Plus I thought "the Elders" had stated it actually IS superior...

I meant to post this yesterday...

Yesterday was the seven year anniversary of being diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and being given a year to live. Well, I guess they were wrong. My 80 was with me through the whole thing. Taking me to and from every chemotherapy treatment. Without it and the wonderful people of MUD that helped me keep her running along the way I wouldn't be here. Thanks. No greater group of humans.

To celebrate my son and I went fishing. Didn't get too crazy with the 80 because she's just front wheel drive (for the next hour or so...) but caught some smallies. And used the lights to light up the road...
