Bare feet for the foot fetishists a la @NLXTACY

Here is my thong tan line for you ;)

I did the same.

1/8 flat plate across the top of the frame rails solves that...

My power plant has bottom mounting and that's how I got it into the ARB when I had one.

I just drilled and ran the top bolts through the plate and bumper horns.
I just bought one of those Universal winch mounts from HF. They're beefy 1/4" plate, powder coated and already have all the holes drilled for just about any winch. I had to cut the ends down a bit to fit inside the uprights of the bumper but it sure made it a piece of cake for under $50. I welded mine to the sleeves that fit over the frame rails.

s***, this would have helped greatly yesterday :(

After partially removing the rear bumper covers on the trail, I finished the job at home and started brain storming about what to do with the rear.

I also removed the spare tire and carrier and strapped the spare down inside. I was pleasantly surprised to see an alloy wheel for the spare; I was under the impression that the spare was going to be a steelie. There sure is a ton of room under there now. The only question is what to do with it.

Finally, on a whim, I removed the sway bars. Otherwise, the suspension is still stock. Body roll around town is unchanged, and I only really notice an increase when taking an off ramp; basically, if I drive like a normal person, it's no issue. The ride on the road feels just a hair more vague than before, but still quite acceptable. Off road, though, is another story. It's so much smoother on the trail and way more willing to flex- I'd guess I gained an inch or two in up and down travel. I'll keep them handy so that I can reinstall them after the lift I'm still on the fence about, but for the time being, they're staying off.

You need to swing up here for some easy tree work/beer/cruiser talk!

Finished my turbo install on 1FZFE [emoji2] and then broke the A442F truck gearbox. No more 3rd or Reverse [emoji22]
What do you attribute to the failure? Keep us posted on this issue because transmission problems and tear downs are not something I see much of here.

Drove the family up to www.skytoporchard.com in North Carolina for some apple picking. It was a pretty great time and nice to get out of town for a bit. While we were there we learned that Duke Power wants to shave the tops off the mountains of western North Carolina and run power lines through a few hundred miles of beautiful hiking and private residences - all in the name of progress.

We next headed to www.hubbahubbasmokehouse.com for some smoked brisket. That place is great and the owner drives an FJ Cruiser so we like supporting that. The man's appreciation for quality is reflected in his food and his choice of vehicle.
