@jcardona1 I kind of hate you a little right now. lol.

There's plenty of water in CA to go play in. These are all within the last couple weeks. In fact, I won't camp unless I'm near a body of water :)

Water pics are beautiful. If you want to cali, head for the mountains I guess. Cool, refreshing, wheeling. Doesn't get better than that.

In all the excitement, I forgot to post my camshaft cover gasket and sparkplug tube gasket replacement. During the first 100 miles of my trip, oil started pretty much pouring out of that escape ramp of the front gallery. I kept driving another 1000 miles or so, but just kept an eye on oil level.

Like I said earlier, Olathe Toyota came through with overnight delivery of the gaskets.

This is pretty much what two of the gaskets looked like. And they were hard as a rock. Only one popped up in one piece, the rest fractured. I was able to fish the missing bits out of the valve train, where they happily rode for at least 1000 miles without evident negative effect.

If you've ever done this job, I don't need to explain.

Victory! Runs nice, no leaks. Two of my camshaft cover bolts were sheared off and the cover was glued back on by PO. The PO also pretty much destroyed the threads trying to remove (unsuccessfully) them, so I went ahead and drilled the holes all the way through the tabs and put a nut and a lock washer on the underside. It was butchery, but it solved the problem.

You are a cake designer aren't you Andre ;)

Maybe I should have trimmed my garage header a little more...

Seems a few of the gurus like the light (32) hydraulic fluid over the ATF. Just a FYI.

Yes but I'm cheap and only want to carry 1 fluid for both.

Is high end hydraulic oil better? Yes, but I already have the synthetic ATF and they are much cheaper and easier to source. And I am not good enough to tell the difference, I only did the fluid change as a PM. :)

So I think there are more land cruisers in the parking lot where I work then there are at any other comparable parking lot in the US.

4 80 series, mine was the 1st
2 LX450's
3 100 series
1 LX470
1 2015 200 series

Has anyone else seen that many Land Cruiser's in a parking lot with under 400 cars?

I want to put a card on each one of them and ask them all to park in one part of the parking lot one day. It would be an interesting picture.

US embassy's parking lots. 99% landcruisers with a few vans and suburbans.
Oh and all of them are "modified"
It is a beautiful site staring at the parking lot. Unfortunately I won't be "that guy" that takes pictures inside the grounds.

Wow, maybe I work at an Embassy and didn't know it :-) Good point, hadn't thought of that.

Not the parking lot, but on the road on the Shomali plain.

Yup, the time is ripe right now, been taking the 80 to the mountains every weekend.

The rivers could be flowing better, but still nice.

Forgot about the drought for a little while, swimming in one of natures infinity pools.

And to keep it tech, DYK?...If you need to level your rig for sleeping, you do it at the front axle. You can stack rocks all day under the rear tire and that sucker won't budge.

Landcshr, niiice... Is that you flying on top of the white water? think I met you once last year in Death Valley Warm Springs, inquiring about your Nato can on the roof.

Not me in that pic, grabbed it from the 'net. It's upper Cherry creek, I'm not a kayaker but the guys I saw there at the take-out said they have to hike in for three days with their kayaks to the put-in.

That may have been me at the springs, I'm there a couple times a year.
