Spanned over some weekends, I have installed the 1.5" body lift, modified tire carrier and fuel cans basket to fit the H1 wheels with 37" tires, made the double shear for the spindle to handle 37" spare tire, built a detachable cranking system to lift up and lower the tire.

I'd guess the tire/wheel assy to be at least 150 lbs.

I'd need a crank just to stand it up........:crybaby:

Obviously not a 3FE!..... @LS1FJ40 :flipoff2::flipoff2::) Need more HP to turn those heavy hogs!

That's a great idea, I need one for my ice chest!

Thats a first. How heavy is your tire that you need a hand crank? Not clowning just curious.

I havent weighed but guess around there...It's heavy and I couldnt lift it up onto the mount..

Fixed the "passenger seat won't move backward" problem by finding the little white screw and wrapping it with Teflon tape and reinstalling it.

Added some of that R134a with dye and sealant into my AC that was not blowing cold and at about 45PSI cold air returned!!!

I'm so very happy that that happy song is playing in my head even though the admins deleted the 'please delete this thread' thread.

something Ive been meaning to do for 3 years, started on a rear "draw system".. although its more of a tool tidy / shelf at the moment.

the problem.. back of car continually looks like this

with a greater or lesser amount of car or bike bits on top too, and an aging dog who struggles to even get in, and steps all over things in there while were on the move.

the other problem is that anything I do to it here is probably illegal without special permission, so it has to be able to be very easily removable and seats back in for the annual test. I decided it basically just had to lift in and out over the top of whats there, at this point.

so it started out like this

and I basically built it with all the tools and stuff still there, over the top of them.

15mm marine ply for front and top

I settled on tight fitting, but lift out tops for the moment, I will be evolving it over time, but needed the car ready for use in 2 days so compromises were made on design lulz

however im actually quite happy with the result, given my lack of carpentery finesse it all ended up quite straight really, although I missed the car centreline by about 10mm lol

and had exactly enough bits left over to build a doggie ladder too.

am going to cover it in nondescript grey carpet to start with but its pretty strong, Im 85kg and bouncing on either side of it rocks the car not the woodwork, I would happily put 300kg of sand on there, its not going anywhere. ..thinking about carrying a vice that mounts onto it, maybe aluminium treadplates eventually, we'll see.

but I have so much more spare carrying room now, everything I normally carry goes in the left side and the right hand side is currently spare (think inverter, compressed air tank etc :D )

Nice and clean now! I need to do something about my tool pile in back too.
Good job with a bonus for the pup!

Going to Prarie City again for more shakedown in the 80. I'll be home the next few weekends working on it and I need to check out more of the bugs to sort out. Anyone wants to go hit me up, Sacramento area

Pretty technical, but I install YodaTEQ's DS antenna mount doo-hickey so I can talk to my CB minions.
