Baseball is rained out for the day so I've got some free time to replace my plug wires, plugs, distributor cap, PCV, PCV grommet, replace all vacuum lines, and hopefully do the EGR delete that has been collecting dust!

Checked the surf with my 80 in Todos Santos, Mexico

Pardon my ignorance but what is that? I know it looks familiar...

This is the piece that goes on the steering column at the firewall. It prevents hot feet syndrome.

Ideally it comes with a rubber boot. But after 17 years apparently it disappears.

One banana.

I tested my $6 underhood LED lights. I initially set them up with double sided tape on neodymium magnets. The LED frame is aluminum. This worked better than expected but the LED strip is very fragile and I read in the reviews that they can get very hot. I replaced the short and VERY thin chinese wires with stranded 22AWG and connected the lights in parallel to alligator clips. I also JB Welded the LED strips to 1/8" thick 1" wide steel bars cut to the length of the strips to act as an additional heat sink.

At this point, I need to wire in a fuse box and add a normally closed reed switch so that the LED's come on anytime the hood is lifted.

I had Friday off and spent the day tacking up supports for my rock sliders.

went for a drive to see what the speedo vs gps difference is.
What is that strange glowing green letter D on your dash mean? I've never seen that on mine.

After sitting on the lift for two months, (as lack of time stalled the radiator replacement that became while you are in there, hoses, belts, ps pump rebuild, ps lines, fan clutch rebuild, AC compressor replacement, battery isolator re wire...)

I drove it and chased a pot of gold! I missed my beast

Did this first thing this morning. Looks like there is a small chance that it was bad. As is evidenced by the lack of any rubber.

Tim, I literally did mine this morning as well.. That is too funny!!! also did my extended diff breathers, and greased up the driveshafts!!

Made a support rod for the hood from one I got from a 4Runner. No more summertime hood to the head. Took about 15-20 minutes of bending, no heat, to get it right. Now I just need to paint it where the paint came off when bending.

New plugs, wires, distributor cap, and PCV valve. I checked my log. It had been 11 years (60k) since the plugs and wires had been replaced. 6 years (35k) for the cap. I had forgotten how to do it! The plugs were pretty bad shape. Wires and cap will go in to the emergency back up bin.

Spending the day wiring up the new Fire Extinguigher Mount. Haven't decided what in the world these are going to operate yet but we shall see. The other side of the bracket though *evil laugh* oh I gots me an idea :D

Parked it in some green grass.

Worked on more supports since relocating my receiver hitch into the rear cross member, and then started looking at why the fog light in my Ironman bumper had stopped working.

Fixed it by tightening up the connections on the inside. (Hopefully)

Then noticed the plastic surrounds were nasty and they had started to fade.

Little bit of subtle graphite gray to match all the trim and wheels.

Oh and spent more time than I probably should have cleaning all the third window tracks. They were nasty!
