Nice truck. What did you paint the truck with? It's the only one I have seen other than my own with an army green paint job.
Thanks so much. Toyota's Army Green with Al's liner. The guy I bought it off of had it done. I love it.
Man, I have been debating between OD Green and Desert Tan Monstaliner for my 80 this spring. This just sealed it. That looks incredible! What color was yours originally? Did you paint the jambs?
Thanks alot man. It was originally white. This is Toyota's Army Green mixed and sprayed with Al's liner. The door jambs are not painted.

Mine is Toyota Army Green in monstaliner...rolled.

FINALLY got my ABS fixed by replacing part of the rear harness(Thanks Cruiseryard!)

Now I can get it inspected! Happy dance!:bounce::bounce:

Adjusted my valves, full cooling system flush, all oils and greased everything. Full tune up.. Found out my rig was on OEM cap and rotor and I honestly don't have a clue how it was running. Then took my family to the hills! I love southern Oregon. Side note... Had the CC fuel boiling issue today and also found that at just about every joint and under every heat sheild exhaust leaks.. Everywhere! Tackle both issues tomorrow and head back out

Not too much.....wish we could see the ground here in New England. The snow is so deep we can't really go wheeling .

The beginning of a different build thread.

Failed miserably at trying to fix my passenger seat adjustment gear. Broke both gears in the kit I got from Gamiviti trying to press them on.

The first one was because the shaft got sideways in the press, (That's the one on the right in the picture) but I do not understand why the second broke. It was 2/3 on when it just popped apart.

Use a vise next time, makes for a nice, slow, controllable pressing force.

What temp is it where your at?

Ahh, that makes sense

My starter has been acting weird since I got my 80 several months ago. Only the first start of the day in cold weather it seems to spin without engaging the flex plate. After that it's fine. Last light we had some epic cold temps and the starter would do nothing. Alternator and battery are confirmed good. Guess it's time to investigate. I'm assuming contacts/brushes I the starter.

Sounds like the bendix on the starter is sticking

This isn't related in any way to my 80 (other than if it was I could lay under it easily.

My daughters beetle battery is bone dead. She left her lights on all day. Can't unlock the doors because they use a solenoid instead of a tumbler. I'm 30 miles from home. Don't have a stubby torx screwdriver to take the fan shroud off to reach up and pop the hood. Could I "jump" the alternator by connecting to it with the jumper cables from underneath enough to be able to unlock the door with the key fob? Or will this fry everything?!

Not sure if this will work on VW but on BMW they use a solenoid as well. You can still keep turning the key what seems really far past normal unluck to manually unlock the door

Can you open the trunk with the key and climb in that way?
