Finally got around to doing the valve cover gasket, pcv valve/hose, cap, rotor, plugs, plug seals, and wires. No snags and the 80 runs great! Oil pump seal is next on the list, but not sure when that will happen.

Changed the oil and replaced the overflow hose from the radiator. I'm getting better at not making a complete mess with the oil change. The 3FE's oil filter is impossible to change without dropping 1/2 a quart of oil. It's a very odd design.

Bought more stuff that'll take me a year to install. Now I need to fig out what color to paint my brake calipers. I'm thinking lime green. Because, 'Mud

M32 that isn't a larger brake caliper is it? I would really like to find a big brake kit for my 80. I almost put my right foot through the firewall the other day

Took the family to dinner. Come out and get into the 80 and notice the ford in front look awfully close to the front of our 80. A women gets out of the passenger seat and states we just hit her - my older son of course mentions quietly to me that we have the restaurant receipt showing we sat down to eat about 60 minutes BEFORE the so called 'hit'. Dumb women was busy on her phone when we got into the 80 and at that point our front suspension moved enough that the arb tabs 'rocked' her vehicle - hence thinking we just hit her... Very attentive twit to not even realize we were already parked when they had first pulled in.

Anyhow, her husband arrives at the scene (from a store) and mentions he never felt that he hit us when pulling in... Hmm - "did you just say that you drove into us??". "Yes, but I never felt that I hit you"... End of discussion, obviously at this point husband and son are trying to explain to dumb woman that they hit us and we had been parked there before they pulled in.

Lucky for them that their bumper was just a hair shorter that the arb winch tabs AND I have switched to synthetic so that the roller fairlead is no longer there or their pretty stock bumper may have had a few new imprints. He was also lucky that he stopped before the tabs took out his plastic grill.

Maybe he should buy some glasses for the future or learn how to judge his parking a bit better :)

Drove my 80 series out to California and delivered it to Alex at AOE. They are mounting front and rear bumpers and some rock sliders on for me. Heading back out next week to pick it up and bring it home.

as if there isn't anybody in AZ who could do this for you ?

Serious!!! It took that long!?!? Didn't you "take care" of the factory stuff ages ago!!??

I got the truck only a year ago - and promptly mangled the running boards on the first two wheeling outings

it has a ~2 inch lift of unknown brand, 10mm or so spring packer in the front, and currently is on 285 tires, but will have 315s when I get around to it

they look like metal tech sliders

they are
