Replaced the oil pump cover seal, crank seal, distributor o-ring. Next is the power steering cooler (the paperclip), and rebuild lockers. I am a long time lurker and want to thank MUD for all the great information on here.

Nice looking 80 you got there. More pics please.:)

Thanks, man. I love it. Bought it pretty well built from a Mud member and have been putting on some finishing touches here and there.

Search my posts in the Colorado Land Cruisers forum for more pix. Only took a few this weekend.

His records made the sale! Bought it from him sight unseen. Great guy, too.

Just got done doing the O2 sensors on my '97. Thought it was going to be simple like when I did my wife's LX. Nope, all the nuts were rounded off by previous owner/shop. Had to use Vise Grips on all but one nut. That one came out w/ a Sears bolt extractor. All the others were too rounded and the extractor wouldn't catch. Got lucky and was able to get 'em off w/ Vise Grips. Installed stainless nuts and lockwashers along w/ antisieze so hopefully won't have to go through that again.:) I need to replace the oem nuts on the LX some time this week too.

how hard was the install? i'm thinking i'm going to need to this to get rid of a giant rust hole i have in there?

thats exactly why I replaced it...... battery acid inspired or accelerated rust spot

it wasnt bad... off in 30 min (already had lights/grill out) back on in under 2 hrs; but I had some painting to do too so lil wait time I didnt have an fsm but keep looking around, one bolt is under the cowl, some need door open to access. separating the inner and outer was as easy as a couple passes with a new razor blade

there are however a bunch of bolts there so keep track of em all though mostly the same pitch and only two lengths. The only two M10 bolts are your two grounds.

yup mine looks like it was battery acid or something. did you get yours from a donor? i saw them cruiser parts for $100

I picked up these 16x10 Mickey Thompson's for $300 at craigslist last friday and tried them on saturday. They came with 285 BFG AT's with about 60-70% tread on them. Not bad for the price i guess. I had the stock rims prior to them.

I also finsihed the undercoating and the undercarriage looks better now...
Next, i have to ditch the boards and get a slider...
