Spent yesterday (Friday) with the help of my good friend Matt, replacing my very tired factory springs and Bilstein shocks with a Old Man Emu stock level lift from Iron Pig Offroad. It was a fairly smooth install until we got to the rear lower shock mounts...that is when the fun began. But kit is installed and rides fantastic!

Pete, glad to hear the ride and drive is much better. Hopefully the lift won't be too much for the wife. It's a good thing the running boards went back on.

Glad to lend a hand and learn more about the land cruiser, anytime my friend.

Fullsize takeover at Beasly Knob. Was awesome! Went with my friend's F-250, and that thing was amazing!!! It's an extended cab long bed, stock height on 285 Michelin LTX's. It went everywhere I went and never got stuck except for trail 93 (the easy one ). Got high centered but we pulled it over, and when we left just hit the bump with some speed. We passed some Jeep guys and one of them said my friend must be looking for a challenge today :p. Can't wait to see how it performs with some 35'' Grabbers and a 6'' lift. As for the 80, no surprise but it had no trouble. Tried to do as many trails as I could in 2wd, and it drizzled that morning. We hit all the trails except 93C and part of 93D. Who said HD's can't wheel :p .

Just a little bit of work on the Cruiser today.

Found a new place to stow my Maxtrax that's out of the way. I tied it down. It should stay put.

Snugged up my knuckle studs and nuts...had a little seepage of grease on one of the studs.

Finally got around to installing my hand throttle. Took a bit more time than expected. I had a little trouble working in the tight space under the dash.

I made sure I got my moneys worth out of my rear brakes . I went from semi metallic pads to full metallic last weekend :hillbilly:
I replaced my pads with $16 units from advance auto and got some cheap ass white box rotors for $35 a pop since the rear rotors the original 16 years old ones and werent going to handle another pad swap with the scale/rot which was more then good rotor left
This will get me thru for now:steer: till I re-gear and put on my drilled and slotted with all new hardware all the way around

Installed AJIK blue fan clutch. Re-painted wing, to be removed in future along with rack. That's it nothing crazy yet.

I think i bought my PHH replacement kit(samco) about 5-6 years ago. I did it yesterday. Starter is still out, will get rebuilt today.

Removed hitch, hit rust with wire wheel, phospho acid, clean, brake cleaner prep, painted. Good as new.

Same with tow loops.

Started spare tire lift mod and addressing similar minor rust issues.

Started out Friday with a solo adventure to Washington, CA with plans of heading to Downieville. Made a few wrong turns and thing I stumbled on where the filmed Deliverance, minus the river. Finaly ended up back near Nevada City and then went down Excelsior Ditch Camp Rd. to the river. Last 2 miles were very rutted. Did not go the lest several hundred as the ruts very more sever and it was pretty steep. Came home and cleaned inside and out (very needed). Also installed an oil separator. Thought it was a good time since the HG was recently done and everything was cleaned up.

Repainting the 1FZ rims.

Removed the clear coat, media blast and and started to re-paint the 1FZ rim(s) using Dupli-Color/WP102/Graphite

Thanks Ben... Should the stars be in the direction of the garage door?

BTW your carrier goes to welding today.

When hung vertically against a wall the field of stars should be on the viewer's upper left.

I'm excited about the carrier!

Thread derail over. This weekend I installed my new seat leather from AATLAS1X.
