What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

I managed to program a couple of new-to-me key fobs :rolleyes:
 
Installed Landtank moded blue fan clutch, and Slee's rear lower control arm bushings.
 
Switched my dash lights to blue, fixed my "D" light. Fixed a broken hose causing a rough idle.
 
Reinstalled driveshaft after getting u-joint rotated, as it was installed incorrectly earlier this year, thus impossible to lube in the truck.

Finished up the inverter install. Zip-tied to the two holes left over from the rear seat mounts. Will live under the side cover of the ARB drawers, with an outlet in the rear.

Mounted my new MT45 Engel Fridge Freezer. Turned it up to two, and just about froze my beer in about an hour with the temp outside at 95 degrees! Looking forward to some camping in the next few weeks.

Went camping up near Mt Stuart.

First test of the new storage/sleeping platform and LED lighting. Thing was lit up like a mini mart... with only one of two dome lights on. Ridiculous.

I went full LED on my interior (2 dome, 1 map, 4 courtesy) and you're right- its downright painful if you're sleeping in there with them on
 
Went for a good Sunday drive with the :princess:, There are a bunch of unimproved roads just North of our cottage. Found a few that I have never been down before. Pretty scenery, a little mud, a little rock. A lot of them end up no where, but thats not always a bad place to be....

Where did you get them? I got a pair last summer from a fellow muddier who failed to mention that the map light and one of the domes were doing the strobe thing....
 
finally got the front 4.88 gears done...what a huge pita! bearings were a major pita to press on, had to take front pinion to work because freezing the pinion and cooking the bearing in the oven wouldn't work on the front (on the rear, i still had to drive it on). nitro gears are not for the general garage mechanic. even the stupid flange had to be pressed (although much lighter) on. screwed up the nut trying to use it to press outer bearing on , the crush sleeves i had to precrush at work in the press....:mad:

but it's done. :steer:
 
Replaced original headlight assys with new DEPO assys. Refurbished grill and corner lights too. See my 80 thread for more details.

I went through Pfran42 here on mud. He puts together kits for 80's, but the 100 series is his bread and butter apparently. Look up the "80 series led madness" thread and all the info is right there. Look for him on the 100 series forum as well. Have patience when dealing with him, this is a part time gig with him and he gets behind on his correspondence sometimes. Contact him to check for availability of a kit before sending him any money, I guess there are a couple of people waiting (unhappily from the sound of it), so confirm with him first.

I love my lights and they are positively retina searing in the deep woods late at night.

Went car camping for a long weekend at a local state park, good times just the son and myself.

Before that, got the Speski cargo barrier and cargo hatch light installed.
 
Jcardona, sent you a reply. I had to winch out saturday after hanging up on both my diffs after trying to take the ladder straight up. I walked it last year. The green stickered crawlers keep tearing it up. I'm glad is didn't decide on powder coated rims and bumpers. There is just no traction with the fine silt thrown up from the buggies.

Looks nice and clean. I got a inverter to install on the side of my rear box. It has 2 outlets already. So I am gonna just leave the side open. And mount them a inch or so back to help keep em dry in a sprinkle. You might want to look into a weather proof outlet. If your drunk friends are anything like mine.:cheers:

Well, I did some searching and it looks like the most recent recommendation I could find is that the front B spring should go on the DS and the rear B spring should go on the PS- https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/93325-ome-lifts-discussion-faq.html#post6088154 I wish I would have know this before I installed the springs.
