Replaced the starter with one I had in a parts box. Replaced the negative terminal with new crimped ends and block. Fingers crossed while knocking on wood that this fixes my multi-key-turn odd starting issue.

Fyi.
I bought an AC Delco and the plunger gear would not retract and made a grinding/screeching sound(fly wheel). Replaced it with Denso $164 and all is good.

Started my fronaxel rebuild, it’s a messy job😅

I do have some questions I hoped you guys could have the answer to, can I remove left and right axel without destroying/making more work to the diff?

And partnumber for this one, is it called swaybar arm?
I was not able to remove the bolt, so ended up grinding it off at the end, so I need a new one.

Yes you can remove right and left axles at same time. It is advised to lock the front differential if you have factory electric lockers to prevent dog collar from dropping out of alignment.

Those are tie rod ends or TRE. Relay rod, tie rod, drag link should use similar end joints. Factor 555 highly regarded here can by OEM purists.

Not sure of sources in your area but these will do and this vendor will likely ship to you if you don’t find another source closer.

THESE ARE FOR LEFT HAND DRIVE… make sure to specify if LHD or RHD when ordering.

Not cheap, at least in the LA/OC area. I got 3 different quotes and they ranged between 2-4k 😬
You know, I've factored in and calculated the hours to wire brush, prep, prime & paint and the downtime because I still work full time and have a toddler, and I guarantee you it's worth it. Not to mention it's pretty thorough. And there is no way I could clean up the hoses and electrical wires as well as dry ice blasting does.

Lol yes! I actually bought some rust remover, wire wheels, paint, etc. After about an hour of work and cleaning up maybe 0.1% I called it quits. Like you said, between work, a toddler, and everything else it's just not worth my time. Dry ice was a lot of money, but it's well spent in our situation.

Thanks, dont have factory locker, so it will be unlocked. So i need to allign “dog collar” afterwords? Or could i just push in the axel from the rigth side befour uninstalling the left one?

Fount the tierod on partsouq together with some bolts i needed.

The wheel bearing was crackt, have you seen that befour?
Its going to be a complete rebuild this time to XD last time was the engine with “blown” headgasket.
Its a steep learning curve for someone who have never done mechanic stuff befour

If unlocked differential then you can pull both axles at same time with no concerns. Or one at a time; either will be fine. The alignment concern is only if you have factory electric lockers.

If ordering parts I would consider new knuckle studs. The 4 per side on bottom of knuckle that pass through steering arm. Or at minimum clean and inspect existing well for any damage before use. Those are critical safety item. Lil dab of Loctite is not a bad idea to seat in the knuckle. If I recall there is no official posted torque value but there are some numbers buried in the archives here based off hardware size.

Keep it up. That is a right of passage for all 80 owners. 👍
