Painted the 3FE today. Rattle can blue!!! Turned out okay. Not perfect but good enough for government work! Now got a build her back up and drop her in the FJ80.

Man I absolutely love your "don't give a sh!t" attitude when it comes to doing the maintenance on the sidewalk. In my neck of the woods I would be written up for even washing my truck in mynown driveway..

Looks nice, I’ve been spraying on CLR and scrubbing them with a maroon scotch bright with similar results

Brakes done had to rebuild a caliper, two of the pistons where seized.
As JoeCova stated, you/we have to be careful when adding hoists into sealing framing members. Sealing joists are not engineered to carry load like that with out significant modification. I have a background in framing and home building as well as welding, so I am confident in the lift system I set up.
I added extra framing in the roof, as well as using heavy duty metal framing brackets, and tying multiple framing members together with all-thread and hardware to support a vertical load. Spreading the load out to multiple points, and carrying the load out to the walls. The heaviest loads I ever use it to lift are engines, but I have built and tested it to lift heavier loads so that their is a margin of error.
Its not something I'd recommend the average home owner DIY, unless they have experience and understanding with construction and framing. It is probably cheaper and easier to buy a rolling metal gantry if you have the room for it. Or if you have the $, getting a contractor to build something for you.
If your only planning on lifting a tent for storage, something like this will be good enough for your needs.

Worked more on tire swingout. Almost there. Not happy with latch system will likely source a late model fj40 latch and run it diagonal like toyota did back then, makes sense.
What a pain it is to get in the back now lol. Any body have good idea for locking your spare?

Got most of my new prinsu rack installed yesterday...need to put the rest of cross bars on and debating whether to put on the front wind fairing ... Thinking what's the point ? Just pushes more air ... Any reason why it's a benefit ? To any one else with a prinsu !
Crank seal and oil pump cover seal today. I'll button it back up tomorrow. 3rd time I've used the "bump the starter" method to remove the crank bolt with an old 3/4 ratchet on an 80. Works like a charm. For the oil pump cover screws, I clean them out with brake cleaner and use the correct phillips bit with a 1/4" impact gun. Tap them in tight with a hammer first. Backs them right out.

Got my white knuckle sliders installed today. Looks more "off-roady" now. Although not having sliders never stopped me from wheeling.. 
I’ll be getting the cheater bar out and using the bump method soon to install the supercharger pulley. I dont have a 300FTLB torque wrench to re-install the bolt so always need to “rent” one from the local Oreilly’s. I usually add a “cheater” pipe on the torque wrench to make it easier to get to 300# with the engine still in (its soooo much easier to get leverage with the engine on a stand)

Put a few hundred miles on my 80 and just enjoyed it!
Worked on swaybars - Delta swaybar drop and new OEM bushings, mounts etc. in the front plus a @LandCruiserPhil disconnect kit and rear extended swaybar links. Also installed some Well Visors.
Project "Presentable Paint" kicked off this weekend. Starting with the hood.
I actually enjoy the preparation part of painting as it is process based rather than skills based. Primer has been down for a couple of days. First run with 400 complete. Guide coat on for next run of 400 then move up to 600.

Got my quads installed with Holley retrobrights and added some clear depo turn signals.
I've owned 2 LX450s, a LX470, and a LX570. Never owned sombrero-badged land cruiser until now. It's a 97, rolled over 384k on the way home. It's surprisingly nice, just need a deep clean and a little maintenance.
The want for a quad set up is bad!!
On my 80 series this weekend….it lost some weight!
