Are those Lamb chops? How you cooking them?
Yes lamb chop lollipops, just salt and pepper over night and grille them on the Skottle. 3-5 mins. each side

It’s slowly coming together but there is still a long road to recovery and some parts will just never be the same. There are still missing railroad grades, roads, homes etc. incredibly sad to see.
We are sending 100 windows up to World Relief US via operation blessing to help with some of the rebuild efforts underway. Materials and labor are still in need.

Looking good. Hate you didn’t run in to us down there but it’s hard to beat a weekday on the trails there to avoid the crowds. Check out ONSC clubhouse if you haven’t already.

Thank you for posting up that info. I appreciated reading it... and thank you for what you're doing to help people out. 👍

Got a nice tent for a good price from a co-worker. So fare very happy with it. Fits my big butt in it no problems. I was worried because I'm kinda tall, and its a clam shell. Its a Roof Nest Falcon XL gen 1 tent. Sat it on some Front Runner load bars.
We are finally getting some nice weather here in WA. Project time.

Got some reduction gears from @swamp-thing. Getting ready to go to 10 under on high, 3.1:1 and part time kit. My vicious coupling is starting to lock up after long highways drives and makes my 80 sound like a jalopy when I pull into gas stations. The tcase gets pretty warm driving from salt lake to St George or Moab like we have been doing frequently

Looks like a big load for the 4 small points on the rain gutter.

1st post here, this forum has been a great resource for me which begun before I purchased my 97 LX450. Researched common issues, looked at a ton of threads kn what to look out for, and was alot of help in picking mine out.

Instead of 1 weekend, I have a few so far that have been things I've done to it but I'll try to list them so far:

97 LX450 w/ 106,000 miles from CA. Very clean, no rust, no big gotchas.

I had it inspected before I bought it, tech said "Its in great shape but I wouldn't do it, it's 30 years old." That immediately gained my trust, and he checked out all the big things, cooling sys, front end, and brakes front/back.

After seeing it in person, I went for it and had it shipped. I'm not a stranger to a wrench and work required with an older vehicle so I went to work.

Blue Fan Clutch
OEM Belts / pullies
Hudd expo heavy battery/alternator cable kit
Replaced power antenna/cable,
seat gears for driver/passenger (passenger didn't work, did both while I was at it) with the metal 90* cap covers.

Prepared though a few threads to do a top-end refresh,
New oem vacuum lines,
Valve Cover Gasket and form in place gaskets for the half moons,
Spark plugs, plug gaskets, wires, dist. cap, and rotor.
Later, will do the oil pump gasket, front main, and dist o-ring. None are seeping but just doing it while I'm there on the next oil change.

Put in a new Kenwood Excellon head unit, dynamat (amazon basic) closed cell foam in the doors and rear fenderwells and rear cargo.
In rear cargo, did boom mat juke carpeting, and all these things have made it pretty quiet in there. Will do the front seat floorboards this summer.

Tinted windows, first time doing that but turned out pretty good.
Replaced the windshield with an OEM Gasket and "silver" tinted glass. First time doing that too but is leak free and tinted it too while I was at it.
*I wouldn't recommend windshield replacement for everyone to try but if you ARE capable, it's not impossible and I trust myself more than some dude who will rush and screw it up without a care. Wife helped, paracord, suction cups, HF windshield tools, and betaseal u-418 with primer (surprise dewalt calk gun purchase) and it went just fine.

This forum was a big help on all of these things.

Later this year, will finish a stereo install with Morel 3 ways up front and 2 ways in the back and a JL Low profile 12 in the fender cubby.

I'm contemplating doing my own windshield, too. So far, no local glass shops want a job where they have rules to follow.

I would say that if you think you can do it, and have time to tackle it the right way, you probably can. Asterisk is some don't know their limits, so putting a big ass hole in your cab is the point of no return.

At first glance FSM seems to imply glue everywhere around the gasket to body interface like all other windshields I've ever seen but that's not the case, it's just the bottom "spur" lip that takes it where it meets the body and the gasket to glass. The glass that was in it was factory Toyota with an aftermarket gasket and I'm convinced that's what caused the drip. The dewalt caulking gun was worth it's weight in gold and the small amount it needs in the channel between the gasket to glass, was probably the most intricate part but went smooth/easy for me.

I tinted the glass, left the gasket in the sun to expand it, caulked the gasket interior edge, and put the gasket on the glass. Could be a mess if you're sloppy but a little goes a long way.

For the install, the wife helped place it while I pulled the paracord (FSM is good help) and got it seated. It took me a full day in the driveway but wasn't too bad but could have easily went 2+ days.

150 lbs + 300 lbs (2 ppl) = 450-500 lbs / 4 = 125 lbs per corner

Yeah on further consideration I need to add another set of bars. We don't have a mattress yet because the old one got wet and stinky and my co-worker through it out, so we wont be using the tent till I can find a good replacement. The tent is only 140lb, and the bars are rated for 50lb per corner so they are strong enough for the tent by its self.

Ran the coax from an Alamosa GMRS antenna into the cabin, added a temporary/removable handheld GMRS mount using a Maxflate dash mount (may upgrade to a Delta mount soon) and did an HVAC button/bulb refresh while I was in there:

Yeah I never liked CB much. I'm a comms noob, don't know much about radios so I'm excited to try out GMRS. Have you liked it?
