All my friends are very much into mountain biking and a couple of them work in the industry (Spot Bikes, please support if you're in the market!) They've had a holier-than-thou attitude about e-bikes for years and they're actually outlawed on a lot of trails around here. But my buddy's cystic fibrosis progressed to the point he couldn't handle the climbs anymore and he switched to an e-bike and it has been a life-changing experience for him. He bikes all the time when it was totally out of the game before. IMO, perfect use case for eMTB, to level the playing field and accessibility. Other than that, it's kind of a cheat, IMO, and I'm in really bad biking shape lol. E-towny bikes though--for a lot of people that can replace owning a car altogether.
Yeah, I had an e-bike for grocery/beer runs in town and it was cool. I dont have a problem with e-bikes on the trails my issue is with the users. It’s grating when a guy says I dont really use the power that much etc and Ive had run ins with guys that feel Im blocking the trail when Im pedaling uphill and they want me to move and slow or stop my momentum so they can breeze through on the single track. In a way the conflict reminds of when snowboarders came on the scene and irritated the skiers.

The best way to remedy the “really bad biking shape” is to not ride an e-bike. Sure they are fun and I’ve even ridden the brand new Levo 4 that Specialized just released but I will probably never own one.

Yeah I will almost never kill my rhythm or effort to pull aside and let an e-bike pass me going up a single track hill.

Agreed. Being an able-bodied semi-healthy person, I'd rather sweat it out, walk and endure embarrassment than ride an e-bike. But for my friend with CF, the e-bike was like a paraplegic getting his legs back. He also does not blow by peddlers on the uphill, he'll dial it back to a normal uphill speed when he encounters traffic. Most of the time he's riding with a traditional bike crew anyway.

We have had a lot of reports about non 80 content here. I have been letting this go because it started off with a bike on an 80 and then lots of discussion on that bike and now it seems to be expanding beyond that.

Lets get back to 80's content. A little chat is ok :)

Thanks

Last weekend its was rear rotors pads and calipers. This weekend my son and I changed the complete exhaust system to a legendex free flow and
Genie extractors system I bought during Black Friday sales. It only took 4 months to be delivered but now after 6 hours of swearing and sweating it is in.
And then this happened. It seems like an aftermarket radiator with plastic top. We tried superglue and bi carb mixture but it did not hold. So now its a new radiator.

Made a quick trip to Uwharrie. The old LC did great. Loving the new 35s. Wish I had some better action shots but I was riding solo.

Nice, that Uwharrie mud will definitely test your treads! You are there with the Relic Run group this weekend? I was there last year for Relic with my 80, but couldn't make the commitment this year as I'm going to hit GSMTR for the first time this summer.
