Insurance companies will not accept auction sites for comparables.

@nigelsiam they will tell you the comparables have to be within 250 miles. Your next step is to have them send you comparables. Everything they send will not be equal to your rig and you can shoot down their comparables, ie that is rusty and mine isn't, that is not a collectors edition, that has been wrecked and mine hasn't. Than when they start showing you comparables from farther than 250 miles call them out and demand they accept your comparables from further than 250 miles.

Plan on rejecting at least 5 offers 🤣 🤣 🤣 be patient and keep watching for good comparables. The classifieds on this website is probably one of your best options.

Stay positive and goodluck
Thank you! Love the help, advice and concern. It's really helpful practically and emotionally. Yeah, as soon as he said that it has to be within 250 Miles I thought okay great because there's absolutely nothing like that around here signifying the rarity of my rig. Especially because it was completely rust free. I'm compiling a list of the classifieds here that would be most similar to mine And maybe even thinking of spending a couple hundred bucks on a lawyer.

At least don't let the guy from CO hear you!!
I'd tell you its still tough guy campfire talk. Told you the cops were worthless and insurance will not make you feel whole. Neither work for you but keep giving them $$$$

Waiting for the tough guys to actually do something about actual criminals and not fantasy scenarios.....let me know your plan when you get one....

Sorry again to nigelsiam. Do agreed upon value with vehicles that have more value than book. You'll be lucky to even get a real person on the phone with Progressive but hopefully you escalate to the right person.

stay strong. wife's vehicle was declared a total loss last year due to relatively minor collision, but the repair costs just crossed the 75% threshold insurance my state uses. The value they came up with sounded low, so had to ask them to send me the comp report. when i looked at it, i realized they didn't have all the options right that my vehicle was built with. and the 3 comps didn't match either. all 3 under spec'd and with more miles and wear and tear. they did increase their valuation. this was also made harder as during this time in a nationwide search i could only find 1-2 vehicles exactly the same as the one we lost, and they were 3k miles away.

as already stated, insurance doesn't look at auction sites, or even care about asking prices in ads. made it hard to look for my own comps of vehicles actually for sale.

Anyone want to buy a 1997 Land Cruiser Collector's Edition 3X locked ? $6300! 🤡 That's what @progressive is offering me for my recently stolen rig! What the actual ****! Can you imagine being able to buy these for that price? This is unacceptable and insulting. Getting ready for a fight on this one.
Everyone was right saying this is going to be shock and a fight.View attachment 3776174

That really sucks mate! Any chance of recovering it somewhere? This is a very alert community, so someone must see it somewhere... Yes, insurance companies are there just to make profit, not really pay. Just fight. Never give up, never surrender.

By the way I installed a couple of AirTags with mic disabled hidden in the rig. I think it is an inexpensive way to track it. If you do this, buy also a hand gun!

I'm still holding out for a recovery, that would be best, but I'm not expecting it. Everyone here and on IG has been super supportive and have been looking out. The investigator never even looked at video cam footage from the parking lot. I definitely carry. 👍 Thank you for your message. I'll keep fighting and next time better tracking safety measures.

When I dealt with this my attorney wouldn't touch the vehicle compensation. All he did was handle the injury side. Maybe you can find an attorney that could help but it would probably cost more than it would gain.

Don’t you mean a disabled speaker? I don’t think AirTags have mics.

Got my engine back from a fresh rebuild recently and currently in the process of getting it all back together.View attachment 3768359View attachment 3768360View attachment 3768361View attachment 3768362View attachment 3768363
Huge thanks to Cruisers and Company! Not only did they supply the turbo kit but also all the parts needed for the rebuild. It’s made the whole experience a breeze.
Good Morning! Got everything shoehorned in after a Transgo valve body mod. Everything seems to be working great! Still have a few loose ends to tidy up but all in all it was a complete success.

Dude! I cringed hard when I watched that episode. Its not hard to find an 80 with rust or body damage. Why chop up a super solid 80!?
Because they're kids.

I'm guessing none of those f*ckwits are of legal drinking age.
