Have you looked into the redarc dc-dc charger? its a really good solution to keep both batteries fully charged. it is a charge controller that will adjust charging voltage based on type of batter and is also a multi stage charger. supper easy install and has some other features you might or might not need IE solar charge controller.
I need to look into them, I have the Blue Sea ML ACR but only charges when the car is running. I can switch it over to charge full time but not comfortable doing that when I am not around.

You have a couple things here to work out this is only going to help you with the aux battery charging. the alt amperage is normally not the problem unless your trying to run a ton of extra electrical loads, it is more the charging voltage is not correct for AGM or Litium. both need a higher voltage to fully charge than the lead acid Mr.T designed it for. What the REDARC is really designed for is the aux battery. the Redarc will act as battery isolator and charge controller. so what happens when you wire a normal aux battery without a dc-dc charger the aux battery will never get to full charge becuse the alt will since the closest battery and stop charging when it is full. so what the REDARC does is actually boost the voltage and charging to the aux battery and not stop until it is fully charged. it also will dissconnect from the main battery to protect your starting battery from dischaging from you extra loads ie refigerator.
The other benifit is they arer a multi stage charger that changes voltage and amps as the battery state changes.
I have a 19 4runner that I added an aux battery for my refer and it has been flawless for 3yrs.

What I did with mine this weekend was drop it off at AJ’s so he can replace the rear main seal and the lower oil pan gasket, plus he’s going to install my
new winch for me. I was in the middle of the swap when I hurt my back and I’m not far enough in recovery after surgery to feel confident wrestling the new one into place.

I bought a 96 LX450 triple locked from a fellow Mudder!

Bummer. My worst incidents are in company of my best friends lol

I have moonglow passenger doors and mirror and glass in nc if it helps.

Edit: I see your sig says lx450 so maybe not color matched or is that a different rig? Pics look like 1A6 color

Yeah the Red Arc DC DC charger runs similar to what the Blue Sea ML ACR does from what I read on Red Arc's website.

Honestly I think when I do the upgrade or swap out the brushes it will help.

I have also thought about running a solar using the Lensun solar kit.

Appreciate the offer. This wasn’t actually my truck but a buddy’s. I happened to leave mine at camp this particular night

The REDARC is a multi stage charger with charging profiles for specific battery types along with an isolation feature which is much different then the blue seas. the blue seas is only a charge relay that opens and closes based on voltage or the manual input switch if you have that. its purpose was really for boats where we have multiple battery banks and needed the ability to combine banks for engine starting or house bank isolation. I like that system for other reasons than keeping batteries charged. Its great to isolate your aux battery and to allow it to charge with the main battery or to combine both batteries for winching or starting. with lead acid that system is fine, but it does not provide the multi stage charging AGM and Litium need to properly charge them to 100% and for a longer service life. I know it sounds like mumbo jumbo but its the new world of battery technology.

No that makes complete sense now. I should've talked to the Red Arc people while I was at Overland Expo West.

That's my truck in the picture. It's actually a 40th 1B2. The front pass fender took the worst of it other than the driveshaft which led to me being in this position, but I've gotten most of it out and I actually have a spare pass fender. The rear pass glass busted out but already got that fixed. I wheeled it another day and drove it home two hours.

I could probably use a rear pass door as the top of the frame/window surround is tweaked pretty good but I'll wait and see if I can find one in 1B2.

Just a few battle scars remain.

and the other cool thing is it does the same for your solar input controlling the charge rates and voltage coming in from the solar panels. all you need to do is hook your solar wires to it and your good to go.
I really like the combo of the blue seas and redarc dc-dc charger.
The other thing you could keep your lead acid starting battery and alt set up while still being able to charge the AGM or Litium battery even though they are different chemistry. you size the dc-dc charger pretty much to the battery size and what you expect your draw to be over night. I have the 40a but could have run the 25a. I only use maybe 30amp hours in a night of camping with my 101 arb huge refer so in about two hours or running the truck the battery is topped off.

I saw that regarding the different make up of batteries and the DC DC charger does not discriminate (piss poor words). Spent a few minutes reading the installation guide and the brochure so it makes more sense to me now.

Here is a crude drawing on how I would use both the blue seas and REDARC. This set up gives you the ability to combine batteries for starting and winching or charging if the REDARC failed. I would only combine the batteries for extra demand needs not primary charging or isolation. I would also look into your voltage regulator on the existing alt or new if you go all AGM, there are also companies that make external voltage regulators that can be programed for different battery types.

Funny, I just messaged you about this. LOL I will borrow the picture for future reference.

Cleaned up my turn signal lenses.
Wet sanded them multiple times:
220
400
1200
2200
Cleaned and coated with Armor All headlight restore kit 18514W

First pic is top lens what I started with. Bottom lens is after all the wet sanding.
Second pic is left one is what I started with. Right is after wet sanding.
Third pic is after the wiping and sealing with chemical wipes.

I made significant progress with Eva, the '96 80 into which I swapped a "low" mileage 1fz a year ago.
1) rather than replace a leaking LSPV, I deleted it and the ABS (light had been on my whole ownership) while I was there. After a good bleed, these are the best brakes ever.
2) swapped in the exhaust system from Betty, the LX450 starting its LS swap journey, a couple weeks ago but I had to fix a horrible rattle from the heat shield. Took 30 seconds but what a huge standard of living improvement.
3) replaced the driver's window gasket, fixing a wind noise issue 6 inches from my left ear. Another huge improvement.

Very happy with this truck as a dd.

Finally getting a chance to wrench on her this weekend. Re-installed the 4xLabs front bumper after welding on a new light support, new Land Cruiser Grilles - front grille, and wired up the winch. Hopefully have her back on the road during Xmas break!

How did you manage to get two group 31s to fit the factory boxes?

It is tight. You must use the factory battery clamps; I bought to LCP clamps but wont work with the larger batteries, and now I can't use them. I need to reconfigure my wiring as well. I had a support bracket fabbed up by Send Cut Send to hold a 500A distribution block and two fuse holders that will reside just in front of the main battery to better organize the cables. Will post up photos once done. Possibly able to have it done over Thanksgiving.
