We've been getting hammered with snow this season!!

Couple of days later, I went up to the same area to go snowshoeing but w/o the tire chains this time. Tracks were already made by other vehicles, which made it relatively easy for the 80 to plow through. My passenger took two videos of us plowing through the fresh, light powder. The hwy to the top had 1'-2' of snow in some spots.

So I’m in process of changing my timing belt, however the new timing chain kit that I ordered has different guides. The car is a 1994 fzj80. My question is will this fit and why is it different, maybe Mr T upgraded the design over the years? by the way, left guides are old ones and to the right are the new ones.

Wondering if your question was answered, need to do this to 93 pretty soon? Curious, Did you pull motor out or are you replacing chain/guides while engine is in?

If everything else is new you won’t be able to tell really. You can actually go without it all together and let the bearings just be in gear oil.

Installed some new Dobinsons springs…removed the “in spring front bump stops” will mount the timbren bumps tomorrow…

Can a new one be slipped in with out tearing everything down? Please

I watched a video on YT from RM garage. He did an entire engine rebuild due to the plastic chain guide breaking into pieces and dropping down into the engine. Not sure if that’s your case.

I don't want to do that... murder is the case that they gave me

This started as a head gasket replacement

Seems like an awful lot of carbon build up on those pistons.

There has been some burning oil, new exhaust valve seals are in the fresh head

I had a master tech helping me replace a head gasket with the engine in the truck. By the time we finished I wished we’d have pulled the motor.

The timing cover needs to come off. This means the oil pans also have to come off. Might as well pull the motor at this point.
