Haha, that sucker fell out on my 3rd gen 4runner once. I heard the noise as the bolt backed out and fell onto the road and was able to go back and retrieve it. Talk about body roll!

Little something. Front RD132 & Rear RD142

Installed a Wits’ End spare tire leveling kit that I scored used from another mudder. Got an additional 3” of ground clearance at the front of the tire.

What’s the move on affixing the wiring harness that needs relocating with this kit? I zip tied it to the gas filler but maybe there’s a better way?

discovered a rear seatbelt won't cinch tight enough at the waist for my kids in the back

had all 4 belts rebuilt last Aug/Sept but just realized this when i removed the booster seats. contacting the vendor today. i really don't want to send my belts back, but i feel they should make it right and put the stops where they belong. all four are in different spots

speaking of which, where IS the proper spot? a measurement from the lower mounting point to stop, F & R, would be helpful!

Certainly not in a weekend but I thought probably a good time to show off my build now :) Picked it up in 2019 with a poorly done lift, no rear bumper, a rickety front bumper and 260k miles.

Before:

After: (a ton of cleanup/PM under the hood, mechanical upgrades and mods) - now, it is triple locked, new Ironman control arms, Dobinson springs and lots of other goodies including that very custom cage:

Back to OEM plug wires from the PO's import direct O'Reilly special. Ultimately chasing a fuel dilution trend, following most recent Blackstone results, with a few possible factors - don't think wires were a culprit, but had it on the to-do list & making sure fuel/ignition systems are working correctly. Checking things off the list before pulling injectors for service (parts on the way). Compression test passed with mostly flying colors at 235k, other than #5 being a bit lower than the rest, although still healthily above spec. Going to repeat later. We'll see how this pans out. Not super excited about upper intake, but it'll be fine. Good time for while-you're-in-theres, which are in the mail.

Added these Duluth seat covers. I have had them in my tow rig for a few years and absolutely love them.

They are not completely installed yet. Have to pull the seats first to redo the stupid gears for the seat adjustment.

Dilemmas in the Land Cruiser Parts World.

Found an unobtainium center console surround for a manual, and just got the boot cover in for it the other day. Unfortunately, looks like the cover is correct for the FZJ80, but the surround is most likely for an earlier FJ80? I should have done my research before buying the surround, which I paid a small fortune for.

Curious how they work out. My LX450’s leather is shredding now. I can either replace with new leather covers that’s going to cost me roughly $500-600 or I get something else to wrap around the leather. I want some cloth like material to keep cool on trails and also grab my butt from slipping.

Biennial smog test. Of course it passed.

I've been happy with my Carhartt covers from Covercraft so far, they might be of interest. Fitment is nice, no issues in the sun and heat, and I slide around much less.

@Alpine4X4 yes that is not the right console for the 95-97 model. This is one I had printed for my truck and you can see the differences (curves up to the dash, etc). I deleted the little change holder because it just caught dirt.

I have the Lseat leather covers but I don’t want to destroy them too fast. These covers have been in my tow rig for around 3-5 years and they flat out work. That small front pocket is perfect.

Drove it across the state.

I ordered seat bottom for driver’s side from MegaZip and covers from Covercraft (carhartt canvas). Do I need to cover the seat bottom in leather or cloth before putting on the Carhartt covers?
