Solve Function Gullwings + Deltavs shelf. You'll need to notch it slightly. Loving the new mod.

Installed new GPS android stereo system with along with new speakers to replace the aging / burned old ones.
Bought 4 used doors (far better condition than mine) along with the front metal frame holding and aligning everything in place.
Brake master + servo as well as 2 front brake masters.

Gearing up for removing of paint, interior and repainting the car inside and out. I will also utilize this to resort electricals and interior maybe add some sound damping as well.

Will add the full process in my thread.

Great time to replace all the interior lights with LEDs...gauges and such.

Just a quick trip on one of our favorite trails in the desert northeast of Phoenix.

Wildflower bloom is quite amazing this year, so folks stop and walk across the freeway to take a few pics...

First time out for us in at least three months, Claudia in the LX, me driving my '85 K5.
So, K5 in its natural element - the gas station. Some dude drives up and suggests I ought to check out overlandbound.com or some such.
"I don't overland. I just go 'wheeling." The fellow says yea, we do that too. "But overlanding is small tires and light bars". Dude drives off, resignation on his face... :)

Some folks just lack proper training - the K5 has neither rooftop tent/roof rack/side awning/light bars, nor rotopax/maxtrax/shovel/axe/hi-lift jack/trash-a-roo strapped on somewhere on the outside. So it can't possibly be qualified for overlanding. It has two antennas, though. But also way too many dents...

P.S. The pattern on the hood is an attempt in memory of the late Eddie Van Halen. Thought about a wrap, then decided on tape just to see if I liked it. I do, and even got spousal approval.
I grew up in Phoenix...been on those trails many a time.
I msss seeing the desert flowers bloom.

Great pics!

I think I know what road that is. It’s near where you live right?

Yeah this was Latrobe area. Not much to do aside from a few rutted out sections.
I was going to say Latrobe/Michigan Bar area. That used to be my "shortcut" home when I worked in Eldorado hills.

Offffff...

Trailer brakes? Good ones?:hillbilly:

Almost done with the hidden winch, going for the clean factory look. Only thing left to do is cutting the bumper for the fairlead and connecting the winch to the battery.

Very intrested on metal plate carrying the winch. Is that aftermarket or did you do it yourself?

Popped out 2 intake valves to have a looky, 290,000 miles. Even though they are the intake valves I’m impressed!
