In the county? yeah - Plenty of salt dumped on I90. Typically only use the spray on local roads though.
Damn! Probably doesn’t snow often enough to matter. I rarely see rust issues with seattle cars. Drive safe dude. Or just don’t drive at all.

I have other toys too. They’re all my babies.

But that's just it, the 80 isn't a toy. Until Nov it was my daily. But i got tired of 17 mpg so I bought my little accord. It was never bought to be anything more than utility.

And I wasn't saying you don't have other toys. I was saying I have toys and I have cars that are purpose owned. The 80 is for utility.

Washington started salting roads a few years ago. But as you said, it doesn't snow enough to matter.

I pile on 10-13k miles a year on my 80 in congested LA roads to do life. It’s my toy that I get to enjoy my way.

Now having to put it through icy, salted road conditions? Hard pass.

Yeah, I get ultra OCD washing the underside of the truck if I even think it's been near salt.

So I've owned it a year. It's been on salted roads twice. And I always wash it as soon as it's warm. It's completely rust free. It's not really a concern. I'd probably buy an Old subie if I lived where the roads were salted often.

But you can't really get to the mountains to play in the snow if you don't drive on snowy roads. And I ****ing love snow.

I lived in socal 3 years. It's nice, but I want cold I don't have to drive too.

As soon as my kids are older I'm moving to Wyoming.

I'm looking forward to getting a trailer and tow rig so I can freak out a little less getting to places to play in the snow with the 80(s).

When i used to wheel a lot trailering was the only way to go.

When I go drag racing 99% of the time I trailer it. Stress free

I lol at people who claim their 80 is rust free. Wanna bet? 🤪

I fixed the only rust I've found. And it was a spot the size of a nickel and only surface rust.

Mines also not a us spec. So perhaps it's lived a different life.

Carpets been out.

Easier to bring home with a rod stuck through the side of the block, too.

👍🏼 enjoy! I faintly recall you had an early model diesel 80.

We definitely discussed the effects of salt on an 80s chassis and debated the appropriateness of driving an 80 in these conditions :flipoff2:

My 80 is parked somewhere far away from me this weekend with an annoying squeak I am trying to chase down that goes away by the time I get to a trusted shop.

Old cars suck! 🤪 I will threaten it by sharing pics of a Tesla Plaid parked in its spot. Ho ho ho ya forklift engined jalopy.

With all the ice on the road in Seattle I decided to stay home and keep the cruiser safe. Didn’t work out so well. Both the LX and the Land Cruiser got hit as well as my sons GX. No major damage but a few scrapes.
