Yesterday I did VC gasket, plugs, PCV/grommet, and coolant bypass hose that’s been sitting in my parts drawer for over a year. Didn’t do tube seals because they’re not very old and aren’t leaking. Didn’t really “need” any of it other than the hose, but I feel better having my own record. PO did a good amount a few years ago, but not OEM in many cases.

Made it easy to check a few things up close like the harness, and all appears well

Got the pans pulled and timing cover off tonight. Tomorrow after work lots of cleaning and get the timing cover on and pans installed. Then Saturday head back on the truck and hopefully fingers crossed it’s running Sunday. Have not told the wife or kids the plan yet but I’ll burn a late night if I have to.

You did the head and the pan without taking out the motor. That’s cool. At that point I pull the motor and put it on a stand. Great work 👍

Yah I was only planning on doing the head but after pulling it I decided I was right there why not pull the pans and do the timing chain. It wasn’t really that bad so far!. Worst part is I couldn’t pressure wash the underside and it is so greasy and rust protected. I work alone and pulling that motor tranny trade combo is a bear by yourself.

Another new block looking nice!

A couple more, being a 94 the harness needed some repairs vs being able to replace it. 365,000 on it, x2 injectors were dead and not rebuildable.

Cheers

When you drop the head on do you already have the intake and fuel rail installed? Or do you only install the lower intake and then install the top half on intake and fuel rail? Looking good!!! @musthave
Intake and fuel rail on when I drop it in. It’s easier.
