The replacement door is on. Latch is on. Mirror is on. Main power feed is attached. I think the window rail and regulator are next. Then the glass.

Then the plastic, then the speaker, then the skin. A few more weekend days to go.

Biggest thing i did was drop $2kAUD at wits end, wallets feeling nice and light again. Lots of misc. rubber hoses etc that are decades overdue for replacement but mainly a complete power steering system including the upgraded radiator to replace my corroded and bent paperclip.

Changed belts, the old ones were looking super crusty. Bearings are shot so I've put them back on for now while I wait for new ones to arrive from ebay.

Figured out my steering dampener resists in/out movement but if you pull too hard air bubbles bypass the seal... so yeah barely functional. Likely the case for all the other shockies too. Will add to the list of "to-do".

Got this bad boy in the mail. It's incredible and has everything you could think of including wiring diagrams, step by step photos and torque specs. $50AUD well spent if you ask me.

Replaced radiator overflow bottle and cap. The old plastic was cracking.

Lastly, found some toyota faux wool seat covers; nice and comfy.

Those are rad

Installed a temp gauge for inside and outside. Works ok but had to extend the wiring for the outside. For those that have something similar where did you put your sensor for the outside? I put mine above the front bumper and below the grill kind of centered. But I see when stopped the temp goes up probably influenced by the engine temp.

Not 80 related but I sold my 2014 Crosstrek, they paid the loan off. With the money saved from the drop in insurance and loan payment I hope to be debt free this time next year, with the exception of the house

Yanked off the knuckles (field style) and swapped the new housing in with RCV shafts...just waiting for some paint to dry to wrap things up

Was traveling most of the week and missed the big 225K this week so I got after her a little today. I changed the oil and am going to run Costco’s 15-40 Diesel oil with a YZ filter, grabbed my first Blackstone sample to send off tomorrow. Changed the PVC, grommet and hoses and yes, the old one split and fell in. Was able to fish it all out with long needle nose pliers. Installed new sway bar bushings and ends all around. Installed SLEE 2” drop blocks on the rear bump stops. Hit the underside with Fluid Film and then gave her a bath. Ready for the week now.

It was rough week for the ‘Cruisers. Wednesday lost the HG in the ‘94 LC, and then sprung an ATF cooler line leak on the LX. Was not the most enjoyable time, repairing the LX. Lol. The ‘94 will get the engine pulled and get an 80,000 mile head off an LX450. As well as a bunch of misc seals and such.

Put in a new window run which fixed my wind noise. Decided to sound deaden the door with Noico and run my ditch light wiring.

Then I got a little too into it and fabbed up a new steel door panel. Just the one for now. Worked pretty well, so plan to do the other 3.

Will probably add a custom door pocket to it at some point.

Since the switch is part of the latch, you are likely not fully latching. There are two "steps" to the latch and it's just engaging the first one. This happens when the latch or striker is adjusted too tightly, which is opposite of what you might think.
I went ahead and lubricated the latch and then exercised it a bunch. If I slam it, it will stay latched. Still a work in progress.

Bad ace, hopefully you do a good write up on these door panels.

Airbag? On a 91?
I am 99% sure that thing you circled in red is an airbag sensor. My old 91 did not have this sensor and I have had two very knowledgeable cruiser heads both tell me that thing is an airbag sensor on my 97....

Maybe someone else can chime in because I could definitely be wrong lol. It would be nice to know because every time I remove my bumper I get real nervous putting it back on.... calling @OGBeno

That thing circled is an air temperature sensor. Look in your FSM to confirm. Yes on your 97.

No other airbag sensors other than the impact and inertia sensor in the center console.

Do a search here for air temperature sensor and you'll see other pics and people asking the same question.
