Welded some tabs onto the front bumper to add some IPF 968 driving lights that I had lying around and an LED light bar. 🤷🏻

You need to expedite the locker install. Always good to have more Cruisers in the North end of Seattle capable of rescuing me when I do something dumb. :steer:
I’m an hour north of Seattle and do dumb things too………..lockers on the list.

Went out quail hunting today with our old pointer and my 9yo. Cruiser did ~200 miles each way no prob. Nice day out. Still get 10mpg unfortunately

Can any of you MUD animal trackers tell me what this track belongs to? I have a guess, but it shouldn't be in this location

Black bear most likely. You would be surprised at where they show up.

Fascinating. Thats what I thought, but been hunting this area for about 15 yrs and never saw sign before. Definitely surprised me since this is arid upland habitat without many resources to keep an apex animal alive.

Finally got annoyed enough by the HVAC blower to see what might be in the fan cage making sporadic noises.

Nothing but dusty crumbly foam. And I couldn't release the fan cage from the motor without fear of doing further damage.

So drilled two small holes in the plastic fan cage near the center shaft, and gave each opposing hole a few squeezes with a bottle of CLP.

All is now quiet AND the truck this morning had the faint aroma of gun lube. that's a Win Win, right?

Yup, gotta love the smell of gun oil and solvent! I've told my wife more than once that if Hoppe's No. 9 ever made a perfume she'd better be prepared to wear it! ;)

Changed out the rear unijoints (did the front last w/end) with the help of my younger son. Used a ball joint C clamp ( Ball Joint Service Tool with 4-wheel Drive Adapters | Astro Pneumatic Tools - https://www.astrotools.com/product/ball-joint-service-tool-with-4-wheel-drive-adapters/ ) to press in the new bearing caps since my bench vise maxes out at 4". C Clamp did a wonderful job, smooth, easy and in control of how far the caps were seated to allow the c clips to snap in. Also did the front diff oil (well, grease/oil drained out). That was Saturday. Sunday replaced the xfer case and rear diff oil.

Older son is planning a trip along the major part of the Mojave Road early March, so figured it was a good idea for a bunch of maintenance in preparation for tagging along. At this stage I'm planning to append a DV trip on the end of the Mojave stage. He'll head back to the LA area where he lives/works, so I'll be hitting DV on my lonesome. Last there some 20 years ago (nuts!). Will visit a few areas that I didn't do last trip including some of the touristy stuff like titus, the ubehebe crater, etc.

My dear wife has allocated 2+ weeks for my entire 'holiday', so I have time to take my time :)

cheers,
george.

I mule deer hunt near Sanderson, Texas. It is the desert and yet we have photos of very large black bears and mountain lions on trail cams.

Well?

Is it quiet or slight rumble?

The other day while I was doing some maintenance under the LC I noticed my main muffler was cracking on one end. I would like to replace the whole exhaust at once depending on cost of course.

How does that muffler sound and do you have a PN for it?
