My truck has been used hard for the past year and was in serious need of a cleaning, more than just a wash. I busted out the polisher and tried to clean up some of the scratches and other signs of the past year of hard trips. I'm no pro detailer, and my truck definitely has dings and dents etc that won't get fixed without some real bodywork but the 25 year old paint cleaned up pretty well.

That is a superseded number. The current part number is PT398-07100. So fobs are still available. Just a newer version.

The one you found has been hanging around for just over 20 years. :)

Yup, dated 2001 lol. Almost as good as the new unopened Gold Package emblem kits I found last year, dated 1996.

I remember that one. Did you end up using them?:grinpimp:

FINALLY, got around to doing my valve cover. Has needed to be done since I bought the truck 5 years ago. I wasn't consuming oil, so I just kept putting it off. I'm embarrassed about how bad this was. In the 4th picture you can see the gasket just crumbled apart. Last picture is the valve cover somewhat cleaned up.

Valve cover gasket
Plugs and wires
Throttle body gasket
Tube seals
PCV Grommet (not OEM)
PCV reused old one (OEM one ordered along with OEM grommet)
Re-used various hoses when I should have bought replacements (OEM replacements ordered)

Haha it wasn't burning oil because it was leaking it all :flipoff2:

It should run better now without all those vacuum leaks!

The head and cams are clean! Mine was way dirtier when I did that on mine 100k ago.

Nice work!

Hello there, I'm new to Mud all together. This is my 1st post. Well, I don't even have my 1995 FZJ80. Georg at Valley Hybrids has it up on the rack. It's basically stock. BUT! George is regearing to 4.88 (I'm going to run 35s), installing new Birfs, new bearings on all 4 corners, fixing an main seal/oil pump leak, 4 new drilled and slotted rotors, new pads & stainless brake lines. He's had it for 2 weeks, so the only thing I did to it was visit it and Georg last Friday as I was returning from SHOT Show. I hope to get it back this upcoming Thursday to continue the build.

An ongoing project is the brakes on the Land Cruiser. I have bleed them a few times and each time they do get better and eventually will get to where I want them.

One of the things I need to do is install a Wilwood brake proportioning valve to get a more even brake pressure, so the front does not dive as much any more. Before you ask, yes I did delete the LSPV and happy that I did.

While underneath the LC I checked my "nuts" on the steering links and adjustable upper/lower rear control arms.

Also greased the u-joints/slip joints as well.

Guess the most recent round of extreme temperature fluctuations here in North Texas proved to be the last straw for my hood struts. I went out the other morning to check the oil and dang near got a concussion for my trouble, but thankfully caught the hood with my hand before I had to do so with my head.

I generally prefer to use OEM parts whenever possible, but there was no way I was paying $80 to $90 each for the Toyota hood struts. That being said I also didn't want to pay for the dirt cheap ones on Amazon. I opted to snag a pair for about $50 from Cruiser Corps. They seem really solid, and included new mounting points as well. I kept the OEM mounting points just in case.

The difference is pretty extreme. Had I known what brand new hood struts felt like, I would have known a long time ago that the originals were on their way out. The hood all but flies up now and takes a good amount of force to bring it back down.

That's one of my next baseline projects on the 91. New rear rotors, pads, seals, lokka and fluid.
You need to expedite the locker install. Always good to have more Cruisers in the North end of Seattle capable of rescuing me when I do something dumb. :steer:

Well... I kind of need my land cruiser back.

Went out quail hunting today with our old pointer and my 9yo. Cruiser did ~200 miles each way no prob. Nice day out. Still get 10mpg unfortunately

Can any of you MUD animal trackers tell me what this track belongs to? I have a guess, but it shouldn't be in this location
