Be aware, burning pvc pipe creates chlorine gas.

Broken pvc is as sharp as razors.

Cheers
Pretty sure that's nylon tubing. We're all going to live :bounce:

Nope.

I worked in pipe for decades. Burn PVC and it makes chlorine gas. Google-fu it.

And no we are not going to all be ok because....Covid. 🙄

Cheers

I totally agree with you on the PVC comment ... the pipe in the picture was nylon tubing though.

I have my Covid microchip inserted. The Government says I'll be OK now. They wouldn't lie, would they?

Hey no worries.

He said pvc, that’s why I responded. I know nothing about nylon pipe. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have seen many a post on here over the years though about using pvc for this or that. Such as separating birfs. PVC should be left for your plumbing and irrigation. When it breaks it shatters and can easily cut you to the bone. When you burn it it can kill you if you take a big lung full. So ya in my opinion automotive and pvc shouldn’t even be in the same sentence.

Cheers

Yup. Totally my mistake. 3/8” nylon line from Utah Pneumatic. Corrected. 👍

But PVC is awesome. So much lighter than DOM tube and you can get stoned when you solvent weld it together! :worms:

Seems legit. Would totally pass tech inspection at track day.

Oh man that is clean(not the engine bay itself, lol)! I’ll have to try your suggestion. What about the wires to the switch and controller? I was not able to pull those off either. Where did you source that box?
You're telling me, mistakes were made but the winch got us out. It wasn't as deep as this would suggest.

I went with this, it was the 200 x 120 x 75mm one. I don't know if it'll hold up to the engine bay heat but I attached the solenoid directly to the bracket with the back of the box sandwiched between so there shouldn't be too much strain on the plastic. I think I only had to remove the one spade connector on the switch that went to the wireless module, everything else was removed from the solenoid. I took pliers and gently worked it off, gripping the spade connectors where they crimp around the wire. If you are patient I'm sure you can get them off. Here's another look. I haven't decided how I want to deal with accessing the free spool handle. It's only 2 screws holding in that trim piece, might just remove it when I plan on using it.

Any week now they are going to announce an increase in new cases of covid-21..... They will also announce that none of our vaccines offer protection against the new variant.

I really hope I'm wrong

Not all done in a single weekend, more like a many-weekend update.

1. Moved the washer reservoir using a @Delta VS bracket. Bit of a pain, as the wiring harness in my 93 was solidly in the way and wouldn't budge much.

2. Installed 50 amp breaker switch on another @Delta VS bracket. I'm running 2 x 4 AWG cables to power my @NLXTACY quarter panel.

3. Ran the 2 x 4 AWG cables in a conduit under the radiator cover.

4. Installed a new battery box, dropped in a fresh X2Power battery, and @sleeoffroad battery clamp extenders (their V1 model). Also added @LandCruiserPhil's anti-stress connection for the fusible link.

5. Oh, and I hung a hoist on a 10' Unistrut trolley. This should make light work of mounting my new GFC RTT once the gutter clamps arrive.

Work left to be done: secure the strut channel in the clamps and add stops so the trolley doesn't run out of the channel. Also, run power to a new ceiling outlet.

Hopefully you have a tall enough garage door to accommodate the truck with the RTT on it.

I guess if not, you can always let all the air out of the tires........

The ceiling height in that part of the garage is almost 11', the garage door is 8'. The door will be the bottleneck, but should just be ok.

And now we wait.

Outfit I bought the truck from gave me a 6mo warranty 9n the engine and tranny, so figured I'd make sure all is well.

Plus I noticed what could be the dreaded "milkshake" in my coolant reservoir, so we'll see.

Bought the Antenna Mounts R Us replacement stubby because I wanted to cool like everyone else, but unfortunately wouldn't work with my truck. Turns out my electric mast was snapped in half inside the fender, so there was nothing to install the new mast to. Ended up installing an OEM Toyota manual mast instead.
