I'm no expert but this looks promising..

Got it detailed and the roof ceramic coated.

The previous owner had the whole truck coated but the roof had to be repainted after the repair/removal of the roof rack.

I’m amazed at the quality of the paint. Was parked to a brand new R8 when I picked it up and I think the 80s paint looked just as good if not better.

Also does anyone know who makes these lights? Want to get new covers to replace the faded red.

Look like China knockoffs. I imagine they can be disassembled by unscrewing those allen head bolts. You could paint them.

I came to the realization that I will never be able to mentally finish the mess I have started by allowing my rig to sit for over two years. Every time I go outside to turn a wrench on the rig, I find something else to keep me occupied. So, she was loaded up on a roll back today and.......

........taken to my mechanic so he can wake her from the slumber that smells of defeat, stale beer, and cat pee. I don’t want to be excited about paying someone to touch my baby but turning the same bolts for the twentieth time was just exhausting at the moment. Removed the ARB last night so he could reach the engine and sent her packing. Lots of spare parts from some company called Land Cruiser Parts and Consulting and a raffle box of goodies I won pre-stupid-annoying-life altering pandemic. EDIT: @NLXTACY your junks in there too, thanks man EDIT.

I am thinking the ARB may not go back on, I really like the approach angle without the catcher in place. Thinking of tucking something up into where the turn signals are currently with a 2 inch hitch for a removable winch.

Next picture will hopefully have her moving under her own power and parked on the street behind Georgine. Man, I have a lot of new parts in this rig and my driveway looks empty. Time for another?

Is that your Isuzu Trooper on the street? They are getting harder find. I think of them as a Landcruiser "Lite".

Makes sense why I couldn't find any name on them or anything online. I was going to just repaint them but a couple of the allen bolts are stripped so would have to be drilled out. May end up just replacing them.

@sogafarm yes it is. The 4wd vehicle of the year In 1988. 178k with 16” newer trooper rims and front seats. Amazing little billy goat. If harder to find means the value is going up then yippee. I would hate to be on the dreamer if the week thread.....When we list it in a few weeks. Son realized a Camry is more economical and parts are getting scarce. Thank God for Jerry Lemond.

Great looking rig there!

Finished cutting out my front inner fenders, and Finished welding up the outer lip of the inner rear fenders. Looking for a cheap way to fill in the rest of the gaps in the rear. Anyone have any suggestions?

Was “simply” going to grind & seal a rust spot on my roof where there was a missing patch of paint. Found a pea-sized hole. Then dug into the little cracks elsewhere and found more holes. ****in’ rust, always. At least frame, underbelly & rest of body are quite good for age. Methinks at least partly related to a sunroof leak the PO(s) experienced in the past for an undetermined amount of time. Could be worse, but not so easy working without a garage in one of the most rainy locations around. Pop-up cover is a no go at this spot either.

Not the end of the world by any means, but rust has become the bane of my existence. Edit: more holes since original post, all about the same size. I think I’ve knocked out the worst, though.
